Professor Kevin and Hayley are fantastic coach’s. There is a great vibe at the Jiu Jitsu League. It shows with the class and skill set of the practitioners who train here. It doesn’t matter if it’s your first class or you are a seasonal grappler there is something here for everyone.

So I Dropped in for a no-gi a.m. class. I’m a novice who has only been training a few months. Everyone was very welcoming, friendly and trained safely. Gym was super clean and all county covid health mandates were followed. I will definitely be back when I’m in the area. Great atmosphere and training partner.

Noah Withington: It has been nearly five years now and they have been so supportive through my challenges with crippling disabilities! I’m so grateful to have a shot at recovering and not only training but also teaching and giving back to such a great group of people! My jujitsu training partners were the ones that stepped up to help me as I have started to recover. I can’t believe my good fortune and I am so grateful that I decided to go out that night and just show up at the nearest legitimate Jiujitsu school. There’s a lot of shiny gold in California but I was unbelievably fortunate to find such amazing people catch a train and care for me as if I’m family! I remember the first time I took a private lesson with Professor Kevin Howell and afterward he invited me to lunch and mentioned how much he valued the Jiujitsu lifestyle and socialization on and off the mats. We build such deep bonds that it’s hard for outsiders to understand. Every spring all the competitors from around the world come to train with us as the spend their time with their teams competing in the IBJJF world championships and other local competitions held in Long Beach and southern California. I have been unbelievably fortunate to get to train and grapple with some of the top competitors in the world because of my values reflected in my dedication to training and my membership with The Jiu-Jitsu League.I’ve been training at the Jui-Jitsu League for over 3 years and I love it. We have such a great group of people! The instruction is great and there are lots of high-level guys that always are willing to meet you at your level and train to make you both better. It has been a lot of fun training and making some great friends.

Paul McEvatt: What a place this is. We went to Long Beach from the UK for the kids Pan Ams and all being from different gyms, we tried to find a place that was neutral. What we found was much more than we were hoping for. Kevin and Hayley opened their arms up to us, allowed the kids a little area of the mat to train all week, ithe coaches included them in the adults warm ups, invited them to the kids classes and even picked them out to flow roll with. Everyone and I mean everyone at the gym was so welcoming and there were no issues whatsoever about gym affiliations or politics. Highly recommend finding this place to go and train if you're in the Long Beach area, wonderful people and wonderful clean gym. To top it off, the kids won the Pan Ams too and that was helped massively through being able to get training in each day.

Icess Garcia: My son attends this gym so my review is going consist of my experience on kids classes. First off he is in both kids classes and together the price is very affordable. All of the coaches take time to explain & correct technique , and are all very friendly. You can see how family oriented the staff is and how they rub that energy off on the kids. This is the 2nd gym we have enrolled our son in and I can’t see him being anywhere else. I have nothing negative I can say about this place. If you are debating on gyms, I would say this is a place you must check out.

jason temple: Have known Gerson Schilipacke for many years this guy knows his stand up and is an elite coach/ instructor one of the best out there!! His technique is from the legendary Chute Boxe Academy and he knows it like the back of his hand!! The team is a Family and they are very welcoming to new members!!! Come get trained by a Beast of a Squad!!!

If you’re trying to lose weight, gain confidence, learn self defense maybe even want to become a fighter then this gym definitely is for you! I came here years ago and within the first year lost weight, Gained confidence and learned patience, maturity and how to use that in every day life. This gym treats you with inclusivity and you very much feel like family. They will bend over backwards for you and understand your struggles as well. I am a working college student and this gym has gone through struggles with me and at the same time helped me take on that stress through Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as well as the strength and conditioning Natasha offers! Their kids class does not fall short either as they have one of the toughest kid champs in the game! If you’re looking for a gym in the Long Beach/ south bay area this gym is def the one. I would recommend it to everyone. They also have a location in South Bay.

Kyle Luu: decided to come here to learn muay thai after boxing for a few months and I can guarantee you that Fight Solutions HQ is the best gym there is around. All the coaches are personable and very experienced in what they do. The head coach, Coach Gerson doesn't care if you plan or don't plan to fight competitively. He only cares about your growth not only in fighting but as a person overall.I wouldn't hesitate to come try a class, it's free and you definitely won't regret it

Professor Dimitrios Mavraganis provides a good and positive environment when it comes to practice and learning. The people at the Jiu Jitsu academy are very positive and uplifting too. Smonroyy: I've been to a few gyms throughout my time training and this is by far the best one I've experienced. From your first day you will feel welcomed and not out of place. Other gyms have a cliquey vibe to it, but not here. It can be intimidating walking into a new gym for the first time, and have a good vibe matters a lot. Also, Professor's attention to detail is unmatched. Details make the difference, and Professor's knowledge will turn anyone's game from mediocre to impressive.
