He challenges you without picking on you. It's one of those classes that is a workout and you burn a good amount of calories, build muscle, etc. but it doesn't feel like work because it's just fun and the time flies by.

Lejone Morris: I've been taking cycling classes at Five Starr for 5 years. I bought a Groupon to check it out and I'm so glad that I did. My first class was taught by Richard who told us outright that he was a cyclist and not a spin instructor. He showed me how to properly set up the bike and the appropriate way to mount and dismount the bike. After his class I was hooked.I've tried other cycling studios over the years but I really love the Keiser bikes at Five Starr. The small class sizes and family atmosphere are appealing. The instructors provide an intense, challenging workout. Dara is #bodygoals and Beatrice is my #fitspiration. I wouldn't have been able to maintain my 35 lb weight loss all these years if I didn't take their classes. Take advantage of the deals and specials. Personal training is also offered. Taking classes at Five Starr will definitely improve your body and fitness.

I have degenerative arthritis in my neck, so circuit workouts, crossfit or other high impact workouts would cause pain and eventually really bad migraines so working out was not really an option. After attending my first class at Five Starr, I fell in love. I was able to workout, feel the results and not end up with a migraine. This is an overall workout and the instructors are incredible too. The instructor always ask of there are injuries and always offer a lower impact option for those with injuries. Alan Ritchie: Enjoyed the free intro class I took here. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The class I took was high energy and well thought out. The music was at times so loud that I could not hear the instructor. Additionally the clip in lock on one side of my bike felt too loose to where it was a bit uncomfortable to ride at times without my foot slipping/changing positions.

Alex Barragan (Violetvtarr): I absolutely love this place!! Braylee’s classes are amazing! She has such amazing energy. All the coaches are amazing here. Absolutely so glad I gave gritcycle a chance and have been continually going every Tuesday and Thursday! You leave the Saddle room feeling so amazing. I look forward to Grit every week. SO AMAZING

Anita S.: Pros thus far:I enjoy taking the $12 at 12 classes. They are upbeat, really make you sweat and are over before you know it. The shoe rentals are just 2 bucks and convenient. I also love the eucalyptus freezing cold towel provided when we finish working out. It is always very clean and fun, lots of fun.Cons thus far:The front desk clerks weren't always welcoming or friendly to me each time I visited and I have been to 2 different locations. I think staff should be trained to have the same demeanor "shinny disposition" with ALL patrons, especially those who look different than them. We are all there for an uplifting experience and burn stress, you know human stuff that has no color barriers.Lastly, there wasn't more than myself or 1 other Black person in classes I've taken. Some other patrons look uncomfortable about me being there on each occasion, making it a bit uncomfortable for me as a Black woman. I've lived in the South in NC and felt more welcome in prominently "Caucasian" attended exercise classes, which is odd because we are in "tolerant" CA .Any hoots, 🙏I vowed to push past these reoccurring cons to reach my fitness goals. I will return to the saddle uncomfy experiences and all because I deserve to be there, too at this public place.

jasmine silva: Amazing experience! I have always loved cycling as one of my forms of exercise. The instructors, music, and cleanliness makes exercising super enjoyable and fun. I tried their free first class and ended up purchasing the new members package! I will definitely be coming back to feel the intensity and burn of GritCycle LB. If it wasn't for the hefty price of the unlimited class package I would do it everyday.

During my time at Grit I have been excited to be in the studio with my favorite instructors, Reina and Kelli. When I think about Reina one word comes to mind, FIERCE! Reina will push you beyond your limits and reinforce what you have accomplished. Her class is so much more than a place to exercise but a place to refuel. For me, one of the best ways to start my day. Reina takes the time to know your name and pushes you not to give up. I’m always surprised to hear her call my name. Kelli exudes genuine love and encouragement for everyone in her class. Kelli’s personality is electrifying and her sense of humor is hilarious. I enjoy her class and always feel a sense of gratification. If you enjoy cycling, I definitely recommend Grit! Looking forward to the next ride, La Shawn Yarbrough!

Shiann Todd: The energy here is exceptional. All the instructors are passionate about spin and will keep you motivated throughout. The studio is exceptionally clean & stylish. Plenty of parking. I recommend arriving at least 15 min before class to make sure you get a spot on time. The closer the better! If it's your first time, definitely a possibility you will experience wobbly legs afterwards. 😄 First ride includes shoe rental, after that it's $2. Also good to come early so the team can help you adjust your bike for a comfortable ride & to show you how to clip in. Bring water! There are showers, lockers, & a bottle refill station. You will sweat...a lot. Towels are also provided. Classes fill up quick so plan ahead and secure your spot. Would highly recommend!

Heather Harris: It can be a challenge to find the right gym, class or workout routine. The welcome staff take their time to ensure your questions are answered, they follow up and make the decision to join an obvious choice. The classes are a well balanced mix of strength training and cardio. I don’t have to figure out what to work on or having to change up routines because they take care of all of that! The coaching and heart monitor allow me to use data and motivation to work towards my goals. The cherry on top is the music and high energy atmosphere .

The workouts are great, different templates for every class plus specialty workouts and fun challenges. I personally love the treadmill but it has been very beneficial for my fitness journey to explore other types of workouts: rowing, floor reps, and weight training. The coaches and the front desk associates are amazing. They are all super positive, knowledgeable, and helpful. Also important to me are the other gym goers and atmosphere. So far, everyone I've met has been super friendly and supportive. I highly recommend the Long Beach Marina Orange Theory. Oh and another terrific perk is that you can attend classes at other OTF locations which I love especially when traveling.

They offer classes in ballet, tap, lyrical, jazz, hula, hip hop, contemporary, vocal, and theater classes. The front desk staff is friendly, inviting and very helpful. The dance instructors are encouraging, caring and knowledgeable. Kick it Up offers opportunities to compete and perform with their dance teams. The competition teams compete at Regional comps around the Long Beach area and at Nationals in Las Vegas. They also offer Performance teams that have performed at the CSULB basketball half time shows, Knott’s Berry Farm, Disneyland, USC basketball games, the Orange County Fair and even the Clippers vs. Lakers game at the Staples Center. Ms. Susan, the owner is outgoing, has a strong head for business and is cordial to everyone she meets. She remembers everyone’s name, kids and parents alike, and treats everyone with respect. She is always on the look out for new, innovative and exciting opportunities for the studio. Kick it Up offers programs that most studios do not have. Currently, Kick it Up offers the Dance Step program, a dance education and leadership program, that allows students to aid in the classroom and learn to give back to the studio community by helping to encourage and support younger students. The students who undertake this program learn leadership skills and are empowered by their new found abilities. Kick it Up also belongs to YPAD, Youth Protection Advocates In Dance and they make sure that the dancers are safe and learn age appropriate choreography. There are two Recitals per year, Winter Showcase and the June Recital. Recently, Kick it up has added dance shoes to their merchandise line. Tap, ballet, jazz and lyrical shoes are now available to purchase in the studio. Really fortuitous, when you need shoes right away, or if you are a new student without shoes. The main draw at Kick it Up is the caring studio community. Kick it Up is a family, and you feel that family atmosphere if you hang out in the lobby for any significant amount of time. Parents are friendly, even the competition dance moms get along, and all the students are supportive and encourage one another.

Chris Roy: I am recovering from an acute trauma, having broken 5 ribs and a collapsed lung from an accident. I have to work my way back to once again have a strong and fully functional body. There's no doubt in my mind that Heidi will get me there. Her knowledge and expertise is unparalleled. Best of the best!

Danny Fenty: Going off first impressions this gym is elite, super clean, helpful staff, beautifully designed with ocean views, rooftop access, designated equipment areas, good and working equipment, they offer many amenities for the price which is expensive to begin with but if you’re serious about your fitness goals the added bonuses this gym offers are worth it. I came here as a visitor with a friend and I’m only basing my opinion off the first few days coming here, he’s gotten the membership I am undecided. So far my overall experience was good.

Bob Cohen (bobology): Outstanding spinning, rowing, strength and kickboxing workouts with some of the best instructors anywhere. New client specials and regular monthly and class packages. This gym used the RealRyder spinning cycle which has a heavier flywheel and rotates from side to side for a better core workout. The classes include a mix of workouts which give a variety not found in other gyms. Especially good for cyclists since the RealRyders simulate cycling better than a standard spin cycle. Nice size classes and not a massive crowd so the instructor can pay attention to individuals in the classes. Hardly anyone who starts coming stops so that tells you a lot about the facility, instructors and management.

Louise Hughes: Love this West Coast Sweat studio. I'm not usually a fan of hot yoga, and am more of a traditionalist. However, the studio is well ventilated even though hot. The teachers are quality and I really like when they cue alignment and use sanskrit. the Early am classes are the best since I can get my yoga in before work.

Becca Fern: Every teacher & student is so kind & welcoming. The class is dynamic & they emphasize the process is not to get the pose 100% but to try your 100%You definitely sweat when you're here

They offer indoor and outdoor classes on the marina, while offering a diversity of options from the traditional Bikram practice, yin, stretch, Pilates, weight and band enhanced classes and occasional workshops! There’s something for everyone. They offer online instructor led classes through zoom even!

Every teacher offers a different class experience but they all have the core values of providing a space that is fun, challenging, rewarding and accepting of your personal body and energy that day. The studio is so so clean, they are always doing fun challenges to keep things interesting and offer a great array of class times. Couldn’t recommend them more- for beginners to advanced and everywhere in between.
