Be mindful this park is near a school, so often there could be an event, or more children visiting at a certain time of year.Dog-friendliness: You are able to bring your dog. Marina Ganicheva: I don't know how you should evaluate the local community park, but this one is a rare gem.Unfortunately, the city does a really bad job maintaining Whaley like everywhere else. They removed several trees recently with no replacement, and the grass is delapidating due to excessive cutting. They need to hire people who care and know about plants.
missee doodle: Clean, nice, and quiet park to walk around for a half-mile exercise routine. Occasional soccer teams playing friendly practice games. Friendly people, nice dogs. Surrounded by beautiful trees, although some of them have recently been cut down - possibly due to tree disease. It's still a lovely park. I just love it! ❤️

Jackson Street Park was acquired by a private water company as early as 1903, and became City property when the Water Department formed in 1911. Approval was given on August 16, 1966 to develop the park on Jackson Street and east of Orange Avenue. The development was completed in 1968. The park transferred from the Water Department to the Parks, Recreation and Marine on May 1, 2000. The parks' south edge is a storm drain channel that had formerly been Jackson Creek. Improvements include a playground and picnic area. The playground was redeveloped in 1996 with Los Angeles County Safe Neighborhood Parks Bond Act of 1992 funds.

It was just a wonderful place to take in a deep breath and enjoy our father's creation! My kids loved it too
Dee B: Great spacious space for a festival. The pond was very dirty. If you take a boat ride, be sure not to fall in. No playground or public restrooms. But their’s shops and restaurants across the street, you might be able to use. There is a lot of space for picnics. Great for bike riding and roller skating.

James DeLuca: Ok so I work a traveling type job atm working graveyard shifts and like to find parks during the day so I can get some sleep before my next shift. I didn't find this park but a buddy of mine did. There's lots of shade, a big baseball diamond in the middle, there's a playground, well enough kept up bathroom's but most of all, it's quiet and has lots of shade!!!!
