El Dorado Nature Center: what do users think?

Carmen Gonzalez: A friend an I recently went here, what a great place. There are 3 different trails you can choose 1/4 mile, 1 mile, and 2 miles. Most of it is a dirt trail, there is a pond in the middle. We saw lots of turtles sunbathing. There is plenty of shade from the trees. I did not go into the nature center. There are benches to sit and enjoy the serenity. Parking lot can get pretty full, but there seemed to be people coming and going so often I didn't see anyone waiting for parking.

lois lee: Playground: Children play with nearbyRestrooms: Restroom 🚻 nearbyPicnic area: Good nearby table

Pinky Gagnon: Beautiful, wonderfulRestrooms: Always kept upPicnic area: Off in a quiet place with room to run around

Lori Havrilla: So serene. Walked the 2- mile trail barefoot and got really grounded.

Traci Park: Beautiful, peaceful walk. Wildflowers were in full bloom.Recommended activities Walking Parking options Free parking lot …

Joseph Ginder: It is a nice walk, fairly isolated

Thien An: I don't know why it's called Hellman Ranch? The entrance clearly says Heron's Pointe. It's a small trail, in between a big reserve and residential neighborhood. Lots of big Eucalyptus trees provide shades and fragrance. Lots of birds and butterflies. If you pay attention along the fence, you might see owls' nests!

Gum Grove Park: what do users think?

Sara Sanchez: Fun to go play catch

Julia Saile: Not usually a reviewer, but this pic just had to go public. Amazing trail, great for the well-trained off leash doggos!

Stephen Fay: Dog friendly trails. Lots of frogs and lizards to chase.

Maggie Carothers: Favorite place to do a short, 1mile, hike with my dog. High and low ground pathways. Plenty of parking on gum grove side entrance. Dog friendly, leash required 100% of the time. Occasionally will catch a few dogs off leash, so just be aware and look ahead. No restrooms available, so plan accordingly. This is also a family friendly hike for all ages.

Michael Winchester: . I have heard there are also snakes so be careful with your dogs and toddlers.Dog-friendliness: I see lots of dogs, no signs stating otherwise.

Chino Martinez: Fun for a short and flat hike. The trail is in between protected wetlands and residences. This year's heavy rains brought a lot of wildflower blooms and frogs!Entrance is in a neighborhood. Follow the road down the hill and you can park in a small lot at the start of the trail. There are no bathrooms.

Maureen Norris: Narrow park with great bird life

Yoon Choi: The place where the breeze from the nearby Seal Beach is fresh. The trails that even the elderly can easily take a walk, and the wildflowers blooming everywhere are beautiful. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash. If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, come to this place and enjoy being alone.

Yon Chung: Nice and mellow hike! Bunch of trees in case yall want some shade #shady

Ana Bautista: Nice and easy trail to take your dog. Although there were signs posted about coyotes, at the time of day that I went I felt safe to take the dog. If it were early morning or late evening, I would worry. Otherwise, its a short trail and well shaded

Mike Fiola: Nice place.

Jessie Castillo: Nice little hike. In spring local wild flowers tend to grow here

Steven Dunnuck: This place is awesome but some trails are starting to become overgrown! Would love to see some maintenance!

Bike Path & Walkway Trailhead at Drake/Chavez Park: what do users think?

kev pai: The Bike Path & Walkway Trailhead at Drake/Chavez Park is a good starting point to the Drake/Chavez Greenbelt. The entrance is located directly at the corner of Anaheim Street and Daisy Avenue in the City of Long Beach, California. As you walk/bike the concrete pathway, you'll find an artificial turf soccer field, an informal natural turf field, landscaped open space/passive park areas, a pedestrian walking trail and onsite parking spaces next to the Adventures to Dreams Enrichment community garden. You'll also notice multiple tables and spacious grass areas to have a picnic and enjoy nature. The trail was once inhabited by many homeless encampments but the area has since been cleaned up and maintained by city staff and local contractors. See if you can spy a few interesting items along the trail such as a fake giant redwood tree, a large metal sign from Jesse James’ West Coast Choppers and a few colorful murals.Along the trail you'll find the new stairway and ADA ramp which will take you to the Drake Park tennis courts and the famous Historic Bembridge House. You can also choose to stay on the trail and travel on DeForest Avenue all the way to the Willmore Heritage Garden and the Historic Jergins Trust Pillars. Both points of interest is located near the end of Maine Avenue and 7th Street along the entrance of the 710 freeway.More development is beginning to take shape near the Shoemaker Bridge adjacent to the LA River. The City of Long Beach and the department of Parks, Recreation and Marine has plans to develop the 5.81 acre into a park and wetland. The plan is to connect Cesar Chavez Park in Downtown Long Beach and Drake Park in the Willmore City Historic District. This is great news for kids and families in the community.

John Shinn: Great hiking trails but be aware of less fortunate people living in tents and sometimes you may experience a couple people in a "entanglement" but good time and great area to walk paths.Restrooms: Restrooms are few and far. There is only one restroom and that is in the middle of the softball and soccer fields area. It's typical to any public park restroom bring your sanitizer wipes.
