Open Sesame: what do users think?

Arnie Cuarenta: I was visiting the area and my sister and brither-in-law introduced me to this place. Lentil soup and baba ghannouj are items I order when trying out a new Middle Eastern restaurant. YUM! Open Sesame exceeded my expectations on flavor and quality of food and the customer service. I was surprised that the owner came by and checked in on our experience.

Graham Goldman: The ambiance was inviting, with traditional decor that transported me to Lebanon. The menu offered a delectable array of Middle Eastern dishes, from mouthwatering kebabs to creamy hummus. The flavors were rich and authentic, capturing the essence of Lebanese cuisine. The friendly staff and prompt service added to the overall delightful experience. I'll definitely be returning to savor more of their delicious offerings.

John Enright: My atmosphere rating is for the sidewalk tables. What a lovely afternoon in Long Beach! My leisurely lunch started with friendly and efficient service from the person at the front podium. She continued to help guests and passers-by in a kind manner during the two hours I stayed for lunch. The spicy vegetable soup was harira, but blended. Very interesting! The recommended flatbread was okay. The cheese and tomatoes were not attached to the bread. So it reminded me of bruschetta. The recommended Palestinian red wine was just okay. I switched to something else for the second glass.Vegetarian options: Plenty here to choose from: foods prepared from eggplant, lentil, garbanzo, and a vegetarian soup as well.

Grace C: Open sesame combo- a variety of meats. The beef kabob, chicken tawoon and kafta, and rice were all delicious.Chicken kafta- tasty, but beware a little spicy due to the black pepperJalab drinkTabouleh was very flavorful and freshThe open sesame salad was good too.

Jonathan Shibley: The tabbouleh was excellent. The rice was tasty but should have been brown rice instead of white the rose water flavored ice cream is divine. But all of the other dishes I had there where excellent. Hopefully the owners will see this review and make sure they put enough lemon juice and garlic as well as cumin in their next batch of hummus. Finally I would suggest to them they cover the hummus with sumac and olive oil.

Kerri Ray: The hostess was not very welcoming and somewhat off-putting the way she informed us there were no daily specials half off wine. It could have been a little more professional. We were seated on the patio which was nice. Our server was a bit slow and brought whole wheat pita bread after the third request. We are not familiar with Mediterranean cuisine. I ordered the chicken tawook, which was excellent. My husband ordered the arayas pita sandwich, which he didn’t care for. Just not his type of cuisine. There was a good menu selection and when in town, I would definitely return to try more menu items.

Barsha: what do users think?

Nisha Mannath: Always the yummiest food and best service!

Stephen Graham: We had such an amazing experience here. Our server helped us pick out wines to go with our meals and the food was beyond any expectations we could have had. There was so much love in every dish. We started with the roasted eggplant small plate and their Zaatar fries, both were excellent. Main course we had the arugula pesto pasta dish and the seafood stew…we literally savored every bite. The pesto was SO bright and the homemade pasta was top notch. The stew had intense depth and the different seafoods were perfectly cooked. For desert we had the Rose Trifle that was delicious. This is our new favorite restaurant and we can’t wait to take people here!Vegetarian options: Great vegetarian options!

Anu Karwa: I had my son's Bar Mitzvah at Barsha in Hermosa in May. Adnen, Leonora and their whole team made our event unforgettable. From their warm, family-like hospitality, to their ease and accommodating planning to the delicious food, Barsha was the best. I can't recommend highly enough for private events as well as their regular dinner service. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Gaby: Highly recommended 👌 Excellent food

Shruti Shah: The food was good and pricey.Recommended dishes Hand of Fatima …

Jeff Chen: Heavy, flavorful food.We shared the roasted cauliflower, which was topped with some nuts, dill, and pesto.I had the moussaka -- very heavy and creamy. Almost ate like a chili with cheese except with eggplant. My partner had the branzino, which was solid. The couscous was dense too.Adored our server.Only thing I didn't love was the outdoor seating, which was basically a tent in the parking lot.
