The Victor E. Benstead Plunge has been serving the community since 1956. We are located at 3331 Torrance Boulevard on the corner of Madrona Avenue and Torrance Boulevard. "The Plunge," as commonly referred to, is a heated Olympic sized 50 x 20 meter outdoor pool, open year round. The pool is divided into two courses; one 25 yard and one 26 meter course. The pool is heated year-round to about 80° to 81°.

Carson is rich with opportunities for civic engagement. Every year, hundreds of volunteers donate their time at our city's parks and our recreation programs to give back to the community with their incredibly talented abilities. Volunteers from all different ages, abilities, and backgrounds come together to support a variety of excellent programs and special events.

Volunteer opportunities are also available for students in high school and colleges seeking to fulfill a community service requirement.
