Best Tex-Mex Restaurant Long Beach Near Me

Mitchell Jenkins: Really liked the food here, on par with the other couple really good Mexican restaurants in Long beach. They have daily specials which are very fairly priced. Really enjoyed the torta which was big enough to make two meals out of. Nice neighborhood vibe as well. Will definitely be going back to Great Mex. Oh let me not forget the customer service was great.

Meaghan Smith: We’ve been searching for a low-key solid Mexican restaurant for since our go-to spot closed last year. Happy to say we finally found it—Great Mex is perfect! We’ve been here about 8 times now and each time is a good experience. The food is flavorful and the portions are plentiful, and the prices are appropriate. The staff are wonderful. The restaurant itself is spotless. There’s limited indoor dining but plenty of room out in the covered patio area. Small parking lot but plenty of easy street parking.Vegetarian options: Signs around restaurant advertising vegetarian and vegan options but I have not tried either.Parking: Limited spots in lot off alley, but ample free street parking.

Elliott Richerson: Stumbled in here after another place had too long of a wait, and I was pleasantly surprised. Reasonably priced and well-portioned. Probably some of the best no-nonsense Mexican food I can remember having in years. You can tell they put effort into the small details like the slight charring of the meat inside enchiladas to give it an edge of flavor and texture before wrapping it. The #35 tomatillo green sauce enchiladas were great, the Spanish rice was delicious. I tried my company’s super deluxe shredded beef burrito, and it was bomb also. Will come back for sure.

Bret Spoehr: When I crossed the entire country to seek medical care for my daughter, I did not expect to find an oasis of perfection such as this. I have eaten here three times. It is the best Mexican food I have ever had, anywhere.The very Gods of Valhalla and fabled Olympus must regularly descend to feast on the wonder created by these Men. Or Women. I don't know who or what is in the back of this restaurant but they make literal gold in the shape of food.Their site says this is the best Mexican food you've ever had but that's truly being modest.It will change your life.The salsa. Is. Insane.The guac. Is real. The carnitas, the quesadilla chips... Words are pointless. Go. Now. Find the wonder that is created when human beings become what they were born to be.Seriously.
