4worldlovers: The Los Angeles FamilySearch Library or LAFSL was established in 1964 to service the needs of the then 6.4 million citizens of the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Non members are welcome and there is no charge for facility use. About 60% of those coming to the LAFSL were not members of the Church. The LAFSL has one of the LARGEST holdings of any branch in the Family History Library System of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The LAFSL has access to the 2.4 million microfilms in the Salt Lake City Family History Library.

NEW FILM/FICHE ORDERING PROCEDURES There are now new procedures for ordering microfilm/microfiche. All film/fiche orders must be made by the patrons using on-line ordering and patrons will be able to order from home. If patrons need help, information and instructions will be given by the staff at the LAFSL.
