Dan Taylor began Martial Arts training in 1965. He has trained in Jujutsu, Judo, Wrestling, Karatedo, and Kobudo. He is a former member of the U.S. Army Wrestling Team in Europe, and a U.S. National Karate Team in Japan. He is a retired Law Enforcement Officer and was the Chief Weaponless Defense Instructor for a large regional police academy. He is a graduate of California State University Fresno with a degree in Business Law. He opened a dojo in Visalia, California in 1975. In 2016, he retired from teaching regular classes but still teaches private lessons as well as clinics and seminars.

He learned Gojuryu Karatedo, Kenshinryu Kobudo, and Nihon Jujutsu from Ken Rosson, Soke. He has also trained with the following instructors in the U.S. and Japan: Teruo Hayashi, Yasuhiro Konishi, Tesshin Hamada, Motoo Yamakura, Rudy Crosswell, Shuji Tasaki, Morio Higaonna, Fumio Demura, Kiyoshi Yamazaki, Leo Lipinski, Sam Imoto.

Trifecta was created by both Marion Reneau-Perez and Armando Perez Jr. Marion is recently a retired UFC fighter who was at one point Ranked #6 in the World. Marion needed a place she could train so both Marion and her husband Armando decided to open a gym in the community of Visalia, CA. The timing couldn’t have been any better! Trifecta MMA is the premier gym here in Visalia with world class instructors. Marion has over 15 years in mma/striking and14 years in BJJ. She has been battle tested with the best of the best and now coaches passionately unlike any other gym in the area.


Currently, Trifecta has the LARGEST women's jiu-jitsu program in the valley. Ages range from 13 to 57. You are NEVER too old to get involved.
