We visited some of the greatest pizzerias on the West Coast, took the best parts of each, brought them home and added our own Central Valley twist. The end result is our menu of hearty, flavorful pizzas made with the freshest ingredients, locally sourced whenever possible. From the adventurous “Thai Pie” to the customer favorite “Kitchen Sink”, there’s truly something for all types of pizza lovers. We rounded out our menu with a variety of signature sandwiches, farm fresh salads, and delicious appetizers like our bruschetta and artichoke fritters.


Then there’s the beer. Twenty-one taps of fresh craft beer and cider plus a massive variety of cans and bottles.

At The Mill, we are committed to providing great food and guest service in a comfortable, family friendly atmosphere. We are also dedicated to serving our community through our monthly “Pizza with a Purpose” non-profit fundraisers and other efforts.

While we are currently rebranding as "The Mill", we were originally founded as The Planing Mill Artisan Pizzeria.

Why? Our first location was part of the original Visalia Planing Mill. Allegedly founded in 1851, the mill crafted specialty wood products for generations of Visalians. In fact, many older homes and businesses in town have doors and cabinets that were hand-crafted right here on our property. In honor of this legacy, and as a reflection of our commitment to artisanship, the name fit perfectly.

To deliver an exceptional guest experience through consistently prepared, fresh, high-quality good, served in a safe, clean, fun environment, with a focus on genuine guest service.

We visited the best pizzerias up and down the West Coast as inspiration, in order to bring a unique pizzeria menu to the Central Valley. Our crust is best described as a California/New Haven-style mash-up. It’s made fresh daily, and proofed for 24-48 hours. It comes out a bit on the thicker side. If you like thin crust, please ask and we will do our best to accomodate. We make everything from scratch, so please be advised that wait times may be a tad longer than you may be used to at other pizzerias. The wait is worth it, we promise!

We have 21 beers on tap, all of them craft, most of them from California. If you have a question or would like to taste something before you order, please ask one of our certified Cicerone beertenders. We also offer a wide variety of canned and bottled beers, plus four types of wine on tap.

The Mill offers a lively atmosphere where friends and families enjoy spending time together over a delicious pie. Grab a table for in our main dining area, belly up to the bar, or sip a brew while playing cornhole or simply relaxing in our patio area. It might get loud, but it will be fun!

We no longer accept reservations. Seating is first come, first served. With the move to the new location, there are now plenty of seats available for smaller parties. Please see our Seating Policy for more information.

4worldlovers: Today was my first time. Ice cream was very creamy. I wish they had more seating but the atmosphere was good and customer service was above average, even though the lady behind the counter was training a new girl. I will definitely be returning.

The best ice cream I’ve had yet! I always order the lemon flavor because of its texture and taste. I always come here when I have time during work and it’s just a few stores away. 10/10 I would recommended.
