4worldlovers: Buenaventura Art Association (BAA) is a foundational arts organization in Ventura, CA – a 68-year-old, nonprofit institution devoted to connecting artists with each other, the community with artists, and learning and growing as artists ourselves.

The Central Coast Creative Corps provides grant awards of $140,000 for 501(c)(3) nonprofits, tribal governments, and government agencies to hire a local artist or culture bearer to develop art-driven campaigns. Of the funding, $100,000 is to compensate an artist for work on the initiative; with $20,000 allocated for materials; and $20,000 to the organization for administration.


Applicants do not need to have a project or artist identified— that will be facilitated after grants are awarded.

We Support Our Community's Unique Cultural Identity by Promoting the Arts

The Ventura County Arts Council advances the arts in Ventura County by providing arts education and opportunities in schools and other creative settings, by advocating for local artists and arts organizations, and by creating partnerships among artists, arts supporters, businesses, foundations and county organizations. We embrace diversity and equity, striving to reach low income communities of color with programs that offer equal access to the arts.

For over 25 years, we have offered arts programming to residents and supported local artists and arts organizations. As designated by the Ventura County Board of Supervisors, we are the local partner of the California Arts Council, building upon its statewide, foundational mission to improve communities through arts and creative expression.

Our work has included serving thousands of elementary students with art instruction during the school day; facilitating participation in the arts inside Juvenile Justice facilities; offering artists opportunities to exhibit their work; assisting small arts and culture organizations in securing grants; advocating for greater arts funding and support by local government; and much more.

4worldlovers: Focus on the Masters (FOTM) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), art appreciation program that documents, preserves and presents the works and lives of accomplished contemporary artists. We emphasize the importance of the arts to a healthy society.
