I’ve been training here for almost a year and by the guidance of Sifu Bryan Talbot and Sifu Kim Squiers, I’ve grown into becoming the best version of myself. If you are looking to learn authentic Ip Man Wing Chun Kung Fu for yourself or for someone you know and love, this is the place to go.


The information in the course is solid. The drills are well planned and the instruction is top Notch. In the boot camp class, there are typically 4 certified instructors. Everyone is really nice and the attitudes are fantastic. The instructors have a lot of patience and are really good at explaining the techniques and forms. The progression system is really well thought out and tiered in a manner that makes sense. I cannot recommend this school highly enough.


Through learning wing chun I have found in myself a courage, determination and strength that I was unaware of possessing. It has made me feel empowered to know that I will be able to protect myself and those I care about if ever the need arose.

4worldlovers: Since 2009, Dragon Martial Arts is the place to go in Torrance, California for martial arts instruction and after-school tutoring! We offer beginner through advanced classes for children, juniors, and adults since. Here you will find programs in the arts of Taekwondo, Hapkido, Aikido, and Olympic style sparring. We have three convenient locations for students to receive martial arts instruction and two locations for children to receive our tutoring services.

Dragon Martial Arts is a dream come true for Head Master Hojae Yong. He moved to the United States in 2002, with the hopes of achieving his American dream. In early 2009, Head Master Yong decided to start his own Taekwondo studio. The studio was such a success that by the end of the year, the studio had reached a capacity of over 200 students.

Our teaching method with our students is based on the art of respect and discipline. Our classes are very interactive, especially our Olympic-style sparring classes. We structure learning in a fun and easy to understand way so that every one of all ages can learn and get something meaningful from our classes.

4worldlovers: At Wing Chun Kwoon, we teach our students the art of Wing Chun. Made famous by Yip Man, Wing Chun is an excellent fighting system that can be practiced at any age, both male and female.

Wing Chun was developed at the Shaolin temple and is based on the most efficient techniques from other fighting styles. Wing Chun Kwoon students study Traditional Wing Chun training methods, theories and fighting strategies from Wing Chun Master Phillip Redmond.

Master Redmond is one of two closed-door students of Grandmaster William Cheung in the U.S. He has been training in the Martial arts for over 40 years. In addition to Wing Chun, he has studied Hung Ga, Baat Gua, Bak Mei, Seven-Star Praying Mantis, Juk Lum, Vee-Jitsu te, and Aiki-Jujitsu. Master Redmond became a sifu in Grandmaster Cheung's Traditional Wing Chun system in 1991 and earned his provisional Master rank in 1994. In 1989, Master Redmond started the Yale University Wing Chun Club, where he worked from 1990 to 1994.

The most important factor that determines the effectiveness of a martial art is the dedication and commitment of the person training in it. At Wing Chun Kwoon, we will help you develop a strict training regimen in the style that has produced some of the most famous fighters, like Yip Man, Wong Sheung Leung, William Cheung, and Bruce Lee.
