4worldlovers: Welcome to Long Beach Rowing Association (LBRA)! We are located at 5750 Boathouse Lane, at the historic Marine Stadium and the site of the 1932 Olympic rowing venue. As a steward for the sport of rowing and a US Rowing Training Center Partner; LBRA endeavors to advance rowing and sportsmanship through its relationship with the surrounding community. LBRA hosts local Regattas, and has an extensive fleet of boats available to its members. All fitness levels are welcome to join and learn to row. We also have masters and elite rowing programs at LBRA.

Marina Aquatic Center Junior Rowing is a competitive club program for high school students in the Los Angeles area. Rowing out of the UCLA Marina Aquatic Center in Marina del Rey and administered by the UCLA Department of Recreation, the club has between 100-140 annual participants from upwards of 25 public and private LA high schools. The club is co-ed in the sense that we have boys and girls on the team, but they train and compete separately.

Practices are held Monday-Friday from 4:15 to 6:45 p.m. beginning in September and culminating with the USRowing Southwest Youth Championships in Folsom in early May. The main competitive season is in the spring, when the team travels all over the state to compete against the 30+ clubs and schools that comprise the highly competitive Southwest Region.

MAC is committed to promoting the physical conditioning, personal commitment, self-discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship that are the characteristics not just of good athletes, but of exceptional people.

No experience is required to get started. If you bring your enthusiasm, a willingness to work and learn new things, we'll turn you into a rower and get you started on this incredible journey.

We offer two opportunities to try out for the team each year, once in early September and the other in early January. Both tryouts are 4 days long and give athletes and parents a chance to check out the sport and the team while we have a chance to evaluate the athletes' fitness and attitude. Tryout Week costs $15 and is a great way to find out if MAC is for you!

Open to boys and girls ages 13-18, our introductory camps are perfect for anyone looking to try out the sport, either just for fun or as a precursor to trying out for the school year club team. Over the course of the four day camp, beginner rowers will learn basic stroke mechanics, boat handling and terminology and will take their first strokes in one of our sleek, 8-oared racing shells. This is a great way to have fun in the sun over the summer and learn about this amazing sport!

Your support will help us keep the team equipped and ready to take on the world. All donations are tax-deductible and go to our associated non-profit, the Santa Monica Bay Junior Rowing Association for the expressed purpose of purchasing our boats and oars!
