TORRANCE MUNICIPAL AIRPORT - ZAMPERINI FIELD serves as a general aviation airport with approximately 543 based aircraft. While home to primarily private aircraft, it also houses several Fixed Base Operators (FBOs) which are available for flight instruction, aircraft repair, and charter flights. The Airport is also the headquarters for Robinson Helicopters, the largest manufacturer of private helicopters in the United States. Starting on Monday, June 12, 2023, through Saturday July 1, 2023, Runway 29R/11L and Runway 29L/11R will be closed Overnight. Construction work will take place nightly from 10:00 P.M. to 6:00 A.M., Monday through Saturday morning.

To comply with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements, runway operations will be closed during the construction times. To minimize impact on airport operations and business, project activities will be done at night. Airport Operations staff will be available during the 10:00 P.M. to 6:00 A.M. runway closure periods to assist tenants and businesses (310) 710-2811.

Although runway operations will be closed at night, the airport and access to hangars will remain open.

All seven noise monitors have been collecting data, noise and correlating flight information to keep track of any noise incidents at the Torrance Airport.

Hawthorne Municipal Airport, also known as Jack Northrop Field, is an FAA-designated general aviation reliever airport owned by the City of Hawthorne. Hawthorne Airport LLC—a strategic partnership of Kearny Real Estate Company, Wedgewood and Howard CDM—has entered into a 45-year ground lease agreement with the City to operate all non-airfield portions of the Airport.
