He was diagnosed with C. difficile colitis and ulcerative colitis when he turned fifty. Initially, he faithfully followed the medical advice from his gastroenterologist over a period of two years. But he was still struggling despite being on an antibiotic (vancomycin) and steroids. At that point, his gastroenterologist wanted to place him on Remicade, a heavy-duty immunosuppressive drug. But Dr. Zaidi did not want to go that route. Instead, he took the matter into his own hands. Zaidi would explore natural ways to heal his colitis.
