The tools I learned here have provided a great foundation for not only my sobriety, but for my daily living as well. I attribute much of the success in my sobriety to the time I was a client here. Gait House was not my first sober living, but I am pleased to say that it has been my last. With over a year sober, I can't thank Danielle and Adam enough for what they have done for me over the course of my stay.

Adam and Danielle were just what we needed. They helped me circumvent hard situations and helped my son understand rules and acceptable behavior! All Sober Living clients must be stable enough to be in a "lower level of care". This is a sober living, not a treatment center, this means Gait House clients must be sober from all drugs, alcohol and controlled substances.

Gait House Sober Living offers medication management, life coaching and can connect you to the top professionals in the field, local Intensive Outpatient Centers, and provides the highest quality of care. All Sober Living clients are required to submit to random room searches, drug and alcohol testing, as well as attend outside recovery meetings throughout the week.

Case Study House #28 was the last single-family house built under the auspices of Arts & Architecture magazine’s Case Study House program. At 5,000 square feet, it is also among the largest. Construction began in 1965 and the residence was completed in 1966. It was built on a knoll overlooking the Janss Development Corporation’s Conejo Development in Thousand Oaks.

Designed by Conrad Buff and Donald Hensman, the house features steel frame construction but is sheathed in face brick, owing to the building’s sponsorship by the Pacific Clay Products Company.

The architects were asked by Janss and Pacific Clay Products to design a house that used face brick, a unifying material throughout the development, as a structural material to demonstrate its advantages. However, a steel frame was incorporated in the design to supplement the brick.
