A Bay Area native, Isaiah gravitated to tennis through the influence of his grandfather, a highly successful player with the US Navy. Under the instruction of great coaches, including former Wimbledon doubles champion Sandy Mayer, Isaiah quickly exceled in the sport and earned a spot on the team at Biola University. At Biola, Isaiah played #1 doubles and #2 singles, and was named to the NAIA Academic All-District team for a combination of academic and athletic achievements.

During his summer breaks, Isaiah discovered his love for coaching when he coordinated clinics at local student programs - Peninsula Covenant Community Center and Ravenswood Youth Athletic Association. After college, Isaiah continued helping students enjoy and advance in sports as a Physical Education teacher, soccer coach, coach of Lick-Wilmerding High School Boys Tennis Team, and various professional teaching jobs.
