At Kevin Schimke Jewelers, we know you want a jeweler you can trust. Kevin and his daughter Erika are both Graduate Gemologists from world renowned Gemological Institute of America, GIA.

The Schimke Family jewelry store legacy began in El Cerrito, California in 1951. Larry Schimke (Kevin’s dad) was a watchmaker and served the bay area until his passing in 1977. Kevin worked alongside his father learning the ins and out of the business and became just as passionate about jewelry as a teenager. Kevin got married to his wife Bella and went on to attend the Gemological Institute of America earning the title of Graduate Gemologist. After graduating in 1979, he came to Stockton and opened Kevin Schimke Jewelers on the Miracle Mile. Decades later, his daughter Erika is following in his footsteps with the same background and education!

Early on as a child, in the late 50’s Kevin Schimke remembers playing in the back room of his father’s jewelry store in El Cerrito, California. Little did he know at the time, this was helping form his future career. By 1971, in the 11th grade, he was working full time during the summer, and part time after school in an apprenticeship role performing jewelry repairs. He went on to marry Bella in 1977. In 1978, Kevin attended world renowned Gemological Institute of America, earning the title of Graduate Gemologist. Moving to Stockton in 1979, he established Kevin Schimke Jewelers on the Miracle Mile.

Kevin’s daughter Erika Schimke Reese joins him in operating the store. Erika has a bachelor’s degree in Business from Stanislaus State University, as well as two AA’s. She is also a Graduate Gemologist from world renowned Gemological Institute of America, just like her dad Kevin! Growing up in the industry, she has been around and learned about jewelry for most of her life. With her personality just like her dad, you are sure to get the same great level of service for years to come.

Brittney, another Schimke family member, has been serving Stockton’s Miracle Mile for years! Her fantastic customer service and love for jewelry makes her a great addition to KSJ. When she isn’t at the counter helping customers, Brittney can be found stringing pearls! Like all of us, her jewelry knowledge and passion continue to grow and she has flourished working for the family business! She absolutely loves helping customers find the perfect jewelry items in our store. If you tell her your love story, she may even shed some tears as she loves love like no one else we know!

When Jake isn’t traveling being a cameraman for famous singers, he visits his hometown of Stockton and helps at the family jewelry store doing bench work. With over a decade working on repairs and custom design, his skill is always put to the test! He carefully takes his time on each and every job that comes to his bench. If you happen to come in when Jake is working, he loves to tell stories of his years traveling the world and his experience of living in or traveling to over 50 countries!
