After I moved to the United States, I spent couple of years in research at the University of Minnesota and completed a masters degree in Public Health and Tropical Medicine from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, New Orleans, LA. I later completed my residency in Family Medicine at the University of Alabama Hospital, Selma, AL and decided to complete a fellowship in Geriatrics Medicine at Emory University in Atlanta, GA.My main medical interest is adult medicine and geriatrics care. I am always touched by the elderly; I have a lot of respect for them and I have the passion of taking care of them. They always tell you wonderful life stories that are full of wisdom and they are usually very encouraging and inspiring.I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2006. Kaiser Permanente has always been inclusive and dynamic in incorporating a patient-centered approach. The organization also prospers a collegiate environment for physicians to grow and contribute to the care of the patients. It is very rewarding to work in an organization that promotes such an approach. My other medical interests include dementia, heart failure and other chronic medical problems.I decided to come to the Central Valley because of the diverse population; I look forward to connecting with patients who come from a wide spectrum of background.I believe that life is sacred and must not be taken lightly. I am always mindful of that in my day to day practice. I want my patients to be safe and healthy. I value the philosophy of preventive care but I also strive to help my patients lead comfortable lives even with chronic debilitating conditions. I also work with a physical therapist who can help with muscle and bone problems, as well as a clinical health educator who will provide you with direct health education, information and counseling for conditions such as weight management, exercise, diet, diabetes care, and smoking cessation.

I was born and raised in Liberia, West Africa. When I was young, my mom gave me an article about Dr. Benjamin Carson who is a well-known pediatric neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins Hospital. I was inspired by the work he had done here in the United States and his contributions to the international medical community. I was deeply moved by his story and thought one day if I work hard I could be a doctor too. At that time, I was attending a Catholic junior high school. The Sisters and Fathers of the school asked those who would like to become a doctor to step out to get a special blessing. I decided at that time that I would step up. I am blessed that I am able to keep the vision to become a doctor.
