4worldlovers: The mission of Greater Opportunities is to empower people with developmental disabilities to achieve greater self-sufficiency and lead richer lives.

We provide adults living with developmental disabilities the opportunity to live their lives with dignity as independently as possible. We provide care-giving, education, and life skills in our Day Program, Supported Living Services, and Independent Living Services.

Our services are highly tailored to the individual and are provided in a warm, supportive, family-like atmosphere.

For over 20 years, Project Cornerstone has understood that the growth and development of children is largely influenced by their families and communities (see our Timeline document). We believe that in order to fulfill our mission of ensuring all youth in Silicon Valley feel valued, respected, and known we must engage the caring adults in their lives, foster the development of social and emotional competency in youth, and support the establishment of healthy relationships between adults and children.


Our programs and services have made the following impact by reaching:


School partners and educators whose training in the Search Institute's Developmental Assets model foster caring and inclusive school environments


Caring adults whose participation in our workshops increase their understanding of and commitment to youth


Parent volunteers who become more involved in their child's school and gain leadership skills by delivering our programs for pre-K through 8th grade youth


Most importantly, we reach tens of thousands of youth each year who experience healthy Developmental Relationships with caring adults, while discovering who they are, how to cultivate abilities and strengths to shape their own lives, and learning how to engage with and contribute to the world around them.

4worldlovers: The Return of Santa Clara’s “Heart” – an amazing and economically vibrant Downtown – to the original Street Grid starting in 2021!

To return an extraordinary Downtown back to Santa Clara on the original street grid.

We are “The Center of All Things Possible” and Santa Clara is in the center of Silicon Valley. Currently, however, the historic downtown district contains a parking lot, an apartment complex, a couple of strip malls, and not much else. What we build will indeed permanently define who we are!

O Integrate Santa Clara’s historic Main Street leading to Santa Clara’s Mission Plaza Park (Santa Clara’s first city park!)

O Return key architectural buildings, facades and features of the original Downtown.

O The return of a working trolley to connect Downtown to the nearby transit center and coming BART station.

O This site shows the HISTORY and FUTURE of our original downtown district and its original street grid dating back to the 1840s.

O It showcases vintage photographs taken prior to 1967, with recollections from those who recall an era long ago but never forgotten. We also highlight the “best practices” of successful U.S. downtowns and highlight your ideas on how to make it uniquely Santa Clara!

O Urban renewal demolished eight blocks of our historic downtown in the 1960s. Now, more than half a century later, it’s time to reclaim our history, revitalize, and create a first-class destination downtown! Return the heart and soul of our city to this historic region and Reclaim Our Downtown!

O We are collaborating with Santa Clara citizens, city leaders and staff, current retails and landowners for establishing a revitalized Downtown by 2025. It will be located in the exact eight block grid of the original historic downtown district. The revitalized downtown will address residential and retail needs of today’s Santa Clara, while paying homage to our original Downtown.
