They embody the spirit of discipline and compassion. It is very well run with an organized method for promotion and keeping track of kids improvement. Their classes are 2-3x a week, so my son gets the consistency he needs. It is also a fun place because they hold holiday celebrations. This is a well loved school which makes a positive contribution to the community. I often see Master Ernie Reyes himself checking on everything. I highly recommend this Martial arts school to all parents!

Sensei Krill began training in Shotokan karate in 1986, primarily under senseis Martin Asplund and Curt Huber. Sensei Krill assumed ownership of Shotokan West in 2005 and received a California teaching credential for health and fitness in 2008. Sensei Krill has traveled to Okinawa and completed certified instruction under 9th- and 10th-degree black belt masters in the three primary Okinawan karate arts. Sensei Krill is actively practicing and teaching Shotokan and Okinawan karate, jujitsu and aikido to adults of all levels.

Mr. Fullam began training in Shotokan karate in 1993 at Shotokan West under senseis Curt Huber and Wayne Krill. Prior to Shotokan West, Mr. Fullam studied Shito-ryu for 2 years in New York City. Mr. Fullam is actively practicing and has been assisting instruction at Shotokan West since 2010.

Mr. Yamaguchi practiced Wado-ryu karate in Japan for 5 years under sensei Iwao Shimizu beginning in 1991 at the age of 10. In 2000, he resumed karate training in the Shotokan style at the University of Tsukuba under sensei Masashi Nakajima, receiving Shodan rank in 2001 and Nidan in 2004. After a 9-year gap as he pursued his business career, he moved from Japan to Santa Clara and is now practicing and instructing at Shotokan West.
