AkermanMed OBGYN & Midwifery Santa Ana: what do users think?

Jennifer: and when I got pregnant again I was terrified. I found Dr. Akerman, him and I am so grateful for him and his amazing staff. My pregnancy was complicated because of my high blood pressure, subchorionic hematoma and etc.. The office always made me feel comfortable and they all are so caring. I delivered my rainbow baby in January 2020. Also had another baby boy November 2021

A Y: Very kind

Treena: Dr A along with his associates were very caring and professional. I suffered many years with fibroids and horrible menses, he performed uterine ablation and ty Jesus it was a success. I recommend anyone struggling with the same to give him a visit. Ps I thought he had a great sense of humor & confidence in his skills. The girls in both offices are great too.

Rachelle Driskill: Dr. Akerman and his staff are awesome! He cared for me during 2 of my 4 pregnancies. I ended up having an emergency C-Section with the first he delivered. Then 11 months later had another c-section with the second he delivered. I was given the option of a VBAC but declined because of the risk involved. I never once felt pressured to have a c-section. Wait times can be a bit of an issue if you are insistant on seeing Akerman himself. But for the most part you will see him. Deliveries are hard to predict and he gets held up at the hospital. You are given the option of seeing a NP or other staff. Of all OB/GYNs I have ever been to Akerman is by far the best. All of his staff, including the front desk, are great!

Isabel Rocha: I was recommended for my first child .all the girls and staff were very helpful with my paperwork and appointments.

Karina Ortiz: I would like to know if they do colposcopy there.

Rosa Justin: Super good doctor, I spent my entire pregnancy seeing Dr. Akerman and his entire professional team. You ask them questions and they know how to solve them first. God, I gave birth in August with the same doctor 💖

Raquel Santa Cruz: It is my first appointment with this doctor, no one recommended him to me, I found him on the internet and he inspired a lot of confidence in me and I have faith that he will help me, I came to the right place, he is a very kind doctor and he took the time to explain to me about my problem. I have a tumor in my womb, I suffer from a lot of pain but I will soon be fine, thank you, goodbye, and the staff are all very kind, I arrived at the right place.

Abundant Blessings Midwifery: what do users think?

Kayla Fuentes: The level of care Tessa provided throughout my pregnancy was incredible. From taking her time through every in house appointment, to answering texts and questions leading up to the day of birth, she made my husband and I feel so prepared and confident to birth at home. From start to finish, Tessa at Abundant Blessings provides a calm and gentle demeanor that allowed me to feel at peace my entire pregnancy. She really encouraged us to take accountability in learning all that we could which empowered me to go inward and trust my intuition in making informed decisions. She always provided us with answers and research if we asked for it. In a time where spirituality is talked about flippantly, Tessa frequently reminded me to trust our Creator and the intrinsic way He has designed our bodies to birth. This was on the forefront of my mind leading up to my most intimate and intense moment. I love how hands off she was during birth and knew exactly when to step in and step away/let my body work when needed. Tessa allowed me to experience the birth of my dreams and I couldn’t have done it without her! She is the absolute best and Lord willing we will get to do it all over again!

Rebecca Johnson: I had a wonderful home birth experience working with Tessa from Abundant Blessings Midwifery. I found Tessa on Google at the beginning of my pregnancy and decided to work with her after speaking with her on the phone.Tessa has a professional, friendly, and calming demeanor that puts you at ease fills you with confidence. She offered exceptional care from our first prenatal appointment, to the home birth, to our last postnatal visit. My birth was a truly positive experience. Thank you Tessa!

Kelci Burchill: Tessa is amazing! We are first-time parents, and our home-birth experience with her as our midwife was life changing. Tessa is extremely personable, knowledgeable, confident, and patient. From our very first appointment, to our very last, we are so thankful for her hard work, genuine care, and support she offered us every step of the way.Thank you Tessa, we love you!!

Hilary Luttrell: So happy to have had Tessa as my midwife. Loved that she came to me for all my visits and was supportive of whatever I chose for my birth and care. She has such a calm, peaceful presence which is exactly what you want for birth. Very knowledgeable with recommendations for anything I needed and always texted me back so quickly. We will miss Tessa and would have her again for any future babies! Thanks Tessa for everything!

Melissa Cardoza: Tessa, from Abundant Blessings, was our midwife for our first birth. Her care throughout pregnancy was gentle, calm, informative and hands on. She came to our home for each visit which made things feel so comfortable.I felt prepared and supported for labor and birth. My labor was long, exhausting and hard. Tessa was there for it all. She was professional, informative, organized, knowledgeable, asked for my permission before doing anything, talked me through each action, provided an immense amount of support and encouragement, and trusted me and my body in the laboring and birthing process.Throughout postpartum I have felt very supported by Tessa both during our in person visits and via text. Her care for myself and Atlas has truly been exceptional. We will most definitely be hiring Tessa again for our next baby. She’s the best!

Amy Haupt: We hired Tessa from Abundant Blessings to be our midwife and guide us through our first home birth experience. Her care was more than we ever dreamed possible. This was our third birth, the first two being in hospitals, and we knew we wanted more from our pre- and postnatal care. Instead of battling full parking lots and long waits just to get 15 minutes or less with a provider, Tessa came to our home and gave us at least an hour each visit. She was patient with us as we learned about the home birth process and our options within it. We were amazed at the flexibility we were given when it came to choices for our care and the delivery of our baby. When the time came for the birth, she was with us every step of the way responding immediately by text or call whenever we had a question and came over as soon as we all decided it was about time. We loved the hands on care we received and would recommend Tessa to anyone looking for personalized midwifery care. She is so knowledgeable and made us feel safe the entire time, but also listened to us answering all our questions thoroughly which made us feel valued and heard. Another aspect of her care that we appreciated was the postpartum care which included multiple visits over the first 6 weeks to ensure we transitioned well and baby remained healthy. If we get the chance to be pregnant again we will definitely be contacting her!

Marcela Teresa: We had an amazing experience with Tessa as our midwife. She visited our house, which was super convenient, did my blood work and put my mind at ease throughout the whole pregnancy and beyond. I felt so comfortable and cared for. Her visits left me feeling confident and excited to birth. The night of delivery Tessa and her assistant blew me away with how much support and assistance they provided. I am extremely happy that my friend recommended her to me and I will be recommending her as well to all my friends and family.

Esther Magana-Fletes: Tessa is such an amazing, kind, compassionate and experienced midwife. From the moment we met, I felt a peace about her and felt comfortable and confident in our decision to choose her as our midwife. Our home visits felt personal and I could see that her love for her clients and her career in midwifery was evident. When the big day came to birth my baby girl, Tessa was so supportive and yet gave us our space when we needed it. She was tender and compassionate in aftercare.God willing, We will be choosing Tessa as our midwife again in the future!

Hope Douglass: I love Tessa! I have always wanted to have my kids at home so when I found out I was pregnant I started looking for a midwife. In the midst of the Covid shutdown we had our consultation over zoom and I knew right away that I wanted to have my baby with Tessa. The amount of care that she provides is well worth her fee and the QUALITY of care is priceless. She was encouraging and informative at all of my prenatal appointments and she made me feel comfortable. She welcomed questions and encouraged me to educate myself on every decision I had to make regarding my pregnancy and delivery.I ended up having a long and arduous labor and she was with me for over 24 hours, was always honest with me about the situation, and never gave up on me even when it was looking like we would have to transfer to the hospital if I didn’t progress. She helped me move my baby so that he could find his way through my pelvis and thanks to her and my birth team I had my son at home! Once he was born she quickly unwrapped the cord from his neck and escorted us to the bed. She was amazing and even stayed with me when I had to go to the hospital to have my perineum stitched up due to a third degree tear.We had a rough first two weeks and she was available over the phone to answer all of my questions and diagnose everything that I was dealing with and prescribe natural remedies. She never seemed bothered by my constant barrage of texts about ever changing and compounding symptoms; whether mine or my son’s. Through it all she has been the biggest support and blessing. You can tell that she does what she does because she loves people and cares about you and your baby as individuals. I cannot recommend her enough.

Emily A: . She also made me feel very supported through the postpartum period, answering all of my questions whenever I had them, and coming to care for my newborn and I at several visits. If I ever have another baby, my midwife would be Tessa without a doubt!!

G H: Thank you so much for this incredible experience. After educating ourselves on homebirth and the benefits of bringing a baby into the world the way God intended to be, my husband and I had no doubt that our 3rd baby would be born at home. At first we were a bit nervous and had so many questions but upon finding Tessa we soon realized that we were in good hands. She was always listening to our thoughts and concerns and elaborating on every question asked. Seeing her so calm and assertive with every topic we touched gave us peace and reassurance that we made the right decision. My homebirth experience was beautiful, it was one of the most intimate moments I've ever experienced with my husband. Tessa and Rene were incredible; they provided so much encouragement and guidance throughout the entire labor. This was my shortest labor- my first two were at a hospital with epidurals and my labor time was nearly twice as long. I will forever be grateful to Tessa for taking us on this homebirth journey!

Michelle McCoy: for all my appointments! Which meant no need to find childcare for my 3 young kids. The day my labor began, that's what topped it all off for my husband and I...she, through her calm demeanor and clarity to what was going on, was able to calm me down when I thought things were not going well. When my labor was stalled, she again gave me options to which according my choice in those options was able to deliver my baby an hour and a half later in the most natural way without any interventions. Her and her team

April McCauley: She was so supportive during labor offering kind words and pushing on my back in the JUST the right place to make my contractions bearable. Tessa empowered me enough to catch my own baby. I will never forget the moment she asked me if I could feel my babies ears. It was a surreal moment and soon my baby was born into my hands. My husband and I both know we received the best care after our daughter was born, I was tended to quickly and kindly

Megan Warren: Tessa was referred to me by a friend after I had interviewed some other midwives and didn’t feel like they were the right fit. From the start, she was calm and competent and I appreciate how she was willing to start working with us so late into my pregnancy. When my son was born, the contractions were quick and close together and she came right away and helped through every step of childbirth. She helped me know how to move to help my baby come out when his shoulders were jammed in the birth canal and made sure I was as comfortable as possible as I labored in the water. I appreciated that she and the other midwife attending helped me to transfer right to the couch after to hold my baby and really liked being able to delay cord clamping after studying the health benefits of it. Through recovery, I felt cared for and never felt rushed at our appointments and she always had wonderful natural remedies for other things my body went through after childbirth. We definitely made the right choice and were so grateful to be referred to her.

Lacey Easton: I started care with Tessa 18 weeks into my second pregnancy as the birth center I had used for my first baby had changed some of their protocols due to covid. I wish I had used her for my first birth!! Tessa is so kind and caring, she is incredibly knowledgeable and precise, she had detailed and informative answers to all my questions, and she made me feel like I was in charge of my own pregnancy and birth experience, which was incredibly empowering. My 2 year old looked forward to all our home visits as Tessa made her feel so included and a part of this whole experience. I honestly did not want my visits with Tessa to end, and I will most definitely be using her again if we have any more babies! My husband, who was at first skeptical of a home birth, has become a believer and agrees that Tessa was the perfect person to play the part of welcoming our baby into the world. We cannot thank Tessa enough!!

Saige Schuller: with our first baby. We knew we wanted a home birth and she was supportive of all our desires to bring our baby girl into the world. She always informed us of all of our options along the way, so we could make the best decisions for our family and baby. When things got tricky at the end with our breech baby girl, she was 1000% on board, supportive and confident in our decision to continue with home delivery and she was there every step of the way! Tessa is so knowledgeable and has the most calm demeanor in everything she does from prenatal visits to assisting births. She started as our midwife and quickly became a friend. If you are considering midwifery care, Tessa is your girl!! I give my highest recommendation 🙌🏼.

Katie Kempff: Tessa is a dream for any mom in OC looking for a midwife. She’s so professional and kind hearted, she found her calling that’s for sure. I loved my midwife from my first pregnancy and when she moved out of state I was worried I wouldn’t be able to find anyone to fill such big shoes. Oh was I wrong! I feel so lucky to have worked with Tessa. She really helped prepare me during pregnancy and was so supportive postpartum. She was available to me and so knowledgeable and supportive with every question and my 6 year old was so excited every time she arrived because she would explain so well what was going on. I can’t recommend her enough!

Alexandra C: Tessa Fisher is an excellent midwife. She is incredibly knowledgeable, caring, organized, respectful, and punctual. It's easy to communicate with her online and in person. Tessa's always there to listen to you and answer your questions. It's easy to trust her skills and advice. She's devoted to your care and will follow-up with concerns. Tessa's a loving person and her kindness glows around newborns. With Tessa as my midwife I welcomed a beautiful baby boy this summer. My entire family is forever grateful to her for her service. It is without reservation that I give my highest recommendation of Tessa Fisher.

Marjorie Pilovetzky: Tessa is an incredibly gifted and trustworthy midwife and I would whole-heartedly recommend her. We switched to Tessa at 36 weeks in the thick of COVID 19 because of changing hospital policy and we are so glad we did. Never did we think we would be the people having a home birth but that's how it ended up and it was glorious. Tessa is calm, extremely present, and her care and knowledge of mom and baby is above and beyond. She is so thorough and intuitive - I felt so held and cared for during my time with Tessa. The unexpected experience of working with Tessa during COVID 19 opened my eyes to how much one gains by opting for a midwife during their pregnancy and birth. I can not praise Tessa enough - she is truly a wonderful person.

South Coast Midwifery & Women's Health Care: what do users think?

Holly Kimbell: because my experience with SCM and Sarah was so positive.

Chelsea Gutierrez: I would highly recommend South Coast Midwifery to anyone wanting an out-of-hospital birth

Melina Mujica: My husband and I were very happy with the care I received throughout the pregnancy and after. I transferred to South Coast Midwifery early in my second trimester and from day one everyone in the office was super friendly, welcoming, and informative.I am still soo happy that I was able to have the VBAC of my dreams!

Deanna Patton: Absolutely loved my experience at South Coast Midwifery! I had two hospital births before having my third at SCM and wish I had had my other two out of hospital. I felt safer and more supported than with previous OBGYNS and hospitals. I knew with Lorri’s experience I would be in good hands so we signed on pretty immediately. My husband and I felt a genuine connection with one of the midwives named Sarah and were so happy she was on call when I went into labor. She was the perfect support person during my whole pregnancy - answering questions, giving her professional opinions, listing pros and cons, letting us make decisions on our own - & held so much space for me and baby to birth on our own.We would definitely go back if we decide to have a 4th!

Jade Ramirez: My husband and I have had a wonderful experience at SCM since the beginning. It is a clean and calm environment and the birthing rooms are beautiful and cozy. All of the staff is amazing, friendly and caring. Sarah was my midwife and she definitely made me feel at ease during birth. She is very supportive, attentive and kindhearted. We loved her so much, we decided to have her encapsulate my placenta! We can't thankher enough for everything! Kennedy is also an absolute sweetheart! We weren't able to have a doula this pregnancy but if we were to, it would definitely be her! Kirsten also did many of my check up appointments, she is very kind and Lorri was alsovery informative when she was able to attend them.Overall we'd definitely choose to give birth again at SCM in the future!

E D: First off I would like to say that anyone who wrote a bad review is either extremely sensitive or has a weird complex over not having people cater to your every need. This midwifery group is amazing. If you aren’t vibing with a specific midwife then take control of your own life and speak up.ANYWAYS. Speaking as someone who has had one baby with another midwife group in Washington and one here in CA with this group I can confirm that they are amazing. I had Sarah & Lorri as my midwives when I had my daughter Vendela and they were amazing. So relaxed and loving. Im very thankful for my experience with them. 10/10 recommend. I had a home birth which was so special. I have a great relationship with them now even a year later. If you are looking for amazing midwives then look no further. There’s a reason why they are number one in OC. PLEASE disregard the negative reviews. They are so outraged and so far from reality of what this group delivers.

Sarah Schallberger: My husband and I are so happy that we chose South Coast Midwifery for the birth of our daughter. As first time parents, we were clueless and nervous about the birth process and from the first day we visited SCM we were put instantly at ease and knew it was the right fit. All of the midwives and staff were kind, friendly, so attentive and seemed so invested in my health and pregnancy journey. I had a fairly easy and low-risk pregnancy, but they closely monitored even the smallest of symptoms and were always extremely prompt with communicating about appointments, lab results, and anything else relating to my care. Sarah ended up delivering our daughter and when I went into labor I was so thrilled that she was our assigned midwife. During my birthing time, she quietly stood by and monitored while allowing me to follow my body’s cues and let nature take its course. Sarah never told me to push or gave any direction unless I asked, and every time I did have a question, her answer was “if it feels right to you.” Her trust in me and confidence in my body to do what it was supposed to do made my birth experience feel so safe and empowering at the same time. She was diligent with following up after the birth, continually monitoring any symptoms and making sure I was healing well. I had told the staff throughout the months leading up to the birth that I wanted a peaceful and natural birth experience, and that was exactly what we achieved thanks to Sarah and all of the staff at SCM. We are so grateful for all of the staff and each of their roles in helping safely and peacefully bring our daughter Sophia into the world.

Madeline Redmond: I recently finished my doula internship with SCM. I loved closely working with the midwives and assistants. I learned so much and I am forever grateful for the opportunity I was given. I had 6 doula support births under my belt in 4 months!

Kassandre Fredette: Very thankful to have experienced the most of what I could with these ladies. Unfortunately my care was moved to an OB due to possible complications. I 100% recommend them.Thank you for the team on Friday for alerting me that I was possible starting something serious and we caught it earlier and for Nicole who suggested I sought urgent care when my blood pressure spiked Saturday. I probably would have brushed off my symptoms if I hadn't taken their suggestions to monitor my BP.

Shannon Stanley: Most amazing birth experience ever! If you’re looking to have a vbac this is the place. They will ease any fears you have and you will be treated with respect, love and be listened to. I wish every mama can experience birth as it was meant to be in this beautiful loving environment.

Lucy Alesbury: whose positivity and calm were contagious. She also helped me focus on visualizing only my dream birth

Karin MacKrell: I just finished my Doula internship and I have to say it was an amazing experience. Everyone who works here is so kind and helpful and I learned so much! I was given the opportunity to work in the office, assist the midwives and take on doula clients all under the guidance of some very special woman. It would have taken years to gain all the experience I was given in my 4 months at the birth center. I always told my clients there, how blessed they were to have a tribe of woman that not only offer excellent care but also really show the love they have for what they do. Be a part of this special experience if you want to be a doula or midwife.

Isaac Dan: Everyone that works here is wonderful!

Paul & Shae Foster: SCM is a wonderful group of people and they offer amazing support. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a birth center experience.
