MAR: what do users think?

Sylvina May: Is it still open? I’ve been a few times and it seems permanently closed.

JR L: We only fly to Hawaii to get poke until we found this place. It’s that good!!Dine in: Yes Outdoor seating: Yes Takeout: Yes …

Nick: Dine in: Yes Outdoor seating: Yes Takeout: Yes

Kristina: A few vegan options on the menu! I got the Baja vegan taco, filled tofu “fish” and cabbage. Pretty good! See my IG for video reviewMore vegan reviews💚IG/TikTok: thatfoodthooo

Willian Carbonari: I had their burritos before, fire! But today I had the best poke I’ve ever had, not even in the munchies

Ben Glasner: The food was delicious and there was plenty in one dish to share between 2 people. The rice was especially good, and the lemonade was tasty as well.

lidia: Good food! I just loved how before Covid it would be served in a bowl and not separate compartments like in the picture. Guava lemonade was delicious, as always.

Vicente Galeana: Very rich

Brianne Mia Arce: breakfast burritos are the best item on the menu and their spicy mayo is the best from anywhere I've had

Bucky G: Their poke bowls are amazing!

Chris: Had the rainbow roll poke. It was delicious!

Ashley Guiste: Food was great! Staff is super friendly! Highly recommend!

Jennifer Heil: The all in all bowl is delicious! A little on the expensive side but delicious!

Ms Spookie: Delicious & fresh...worth the price...👍👍

Tony: I was very impressed by the selection and flavor of the poke. All In Bowl 4/5 I got the all in bowl and really enjoyed it. The one thing that I enjoyed the most about it was the fried calamari. It was a game changer. As always seating is limited in the market. But with it being in a bowl you can take it anywhere so no worries about getting a seat to eat.

Jannett T: Tasty, good customer service, the kid that helped me was very pleasant.

El Cortijo Grill Peruvian Express: what do users think?

Isabel Celine: and I was intending to update my review from before but I feel like some stuff should be said. This is a small owned restaurant. You can literally watch them cook the food, and see the fire reach their eyebrows while they do. They have a really lovely atmosphere on Friday and Saturday nights, usually popping off in here during then. Otherwise, you basically have mom or dad up here making your food. It’s courteous to call before showing up, some days are slow and they won’t hang out here all day for nothing. Now onto the actual food;Again, 4 years ago, when I first came I had moved from Texas and was actually dating a Peruvian man who lived with his mother so I was pretty adept to his family’s cooking, especially since holiday season just passed and I got quite a stacked plate on thanksgiving. I thought the food was amazing then, and I went and sat in my car and cried a little because I realized I missed home, the stuff I remembered, everything I knew. I decided to write my first review then, because a plate of food drove me to cry! Definitely deserves a review! Now here I am, 4 years have passed, and I’m still eating here with the same dish as before. I have been here to drink, to sing, to laugh, to cry, to get fed, to feel safe, to be taken care of, many times over the years. Every single time without fail they have provided with smiles on their faces. The food is always incredible, I’ve never had my plate come back with anything wrong and they’ve never forgotten a request. One time I got so drunk here I ordered my Saltado in a burrito and they just did it.I see some people saying stuff like “ehhh it was too much sauce” or “my fries were soggy” or “wahh there was too much salt” and I just….. this is not American fusion. This is not Panda Express. This is a grown woman and her loved ones cooking what they know how, and they’re DAMN GOOD at it too. This is actual Peruvian food. The average American taste palette is not used to other cuisines. Keep that in mind. Now, to today’s visit. Stellar as always, THANK YOU WILLIAM! Over the years I have gotten my white friends to take a liking to Peruvian as well, and they like it so much now they try other Peruvian spots too. Even out of state, they try new Peruvian spots all the time now because this place made them love the cuisine. Guess what spot we ALL agree is the best? And we ALL drive 30+ minutes to get to? Mf EL CORTIJO! It’s just a bonus to get to know how warm and friendly the owners are.I came for the food. I stayed for the people. Give this place a try and you won’t regret it.They are also super accessibility friendly with ramps leading into the restaurant. I see kids there often and they even give you your receipt with small candies so there’s fun for everyone, really.

Karim Urbina: Quality of service: the boy who served us was very attentivePleasant atmosphereThe food: excellent, I was surprised by the anticuchos, delicious, delicious, juicy and soft, and the grilled chicken, excellent and ready.I would give them more than 5 stars. I recommend them 100%The best of Santa AnaWe will return without a doubt

Rafael Sanchez: The wait was long, and we were the only table in the restaurant. The anticuchos were cold and a little dry. 3/10The ceviche and leche de tigre were a 10/10.The pollo a la brasa is one of the best I ever tried in OC, a solid 9/10.The lomo saltado with too much Sillao, I will give a 7/10.The pionono was ok. A little more of manjar blanco would do the trick an 8/10.Chicha morada an 5/10.Maracuya a 7/10.They had a hard time trying to figure out how to use the system. It took them 20 minutes to get our check, and we were the only ones in the restaurant!!!Even though the waiter was very slow and the wait was very long, he was very nice and helpful. They had Mexican music in a peruvian restaurant. There is nothing wrong with it, but we requested a little more authentic music, which they did. But it was southamerican music in general. It became a quiz for us to guess from which country was it.The bathroom is very clean, and the place is clean as well, considering it is in Santa Ana. Not disrespect, but the area is not the nicest one.If they fix the service, the anticuchos, the chicha, and maracuya juice, it will be a hit. I will be back to another pollo a la brasa to go for sure.

Rodrigo Gtz hdz: Quality food, delicious, at a good priceI recommend the fish ceviche ☺️

Joseph Soria: Very unassuming Peruvian restaurant where the food is delicious and the service is great! We were helped by Natalia who was very warm and friendly! Highly recommend the Lomo Saltado, Papá la huanciana, and the Pisco Sour! We went on a Sunday evening for a late lunch to celebrate a birthday and were surprised at the end of our meal by a nice surprise dessert! Thanks for a great meal and we’ll be back!

ray lopez: One of my favorite places to eat great service good people and the food is excellent highly recommend itRecommended dishes Garlic Bread, Shredded Beef Ropa Vieja, Roasted, Rice and Beans …

Libby Baez: I came in before the small crowd for lunch. First reaction, I felt welcome. This is my food, people and energy! I was greeted kindly and I returned the gracious familial atmosphere. Celia Cruz playing, good food I grew up with and I relaxed with my meal. Love the croquettes of ham, fried yucca and complimentary toast along with Malta Hatuey. Sat here quite awhile. They are quick to clean up for you when they notice. I only spent $20 plus a tip and it was worthwhile. I'll be satisfied for hours! Extremely clean and it's across the street from South Coast Plaza.

Jerry Laforteza: GREAT GREAT GREAT SPOT!!! Did I say, GREAT GREAT GREAT SPOT!!!!

Gene Boone: Very comfortable atmosphere. Great, authentic food prepared just right. Lots of food.Kid-friendliness: Family atmosphere. Milk shakes available.

Jordyn Gonzalez: The dishes are creative as well as thier cocktails. This place is cozy on the inside making it a great place to take a date. I highly recommend trying the Chile Relleno.Recommended dishes Recommendation for vegetarians Somewhat recommend …

Michael Sundquist: . It was tasty, and satisfyingly potent...I had two, and actually felt a little buzz, and I'm not a lightweight!!!It was "Thursday Date Night", the only night you can get Bacon wrapped, cheese filled dates...VERY sweet n' savory, oh, and quite good. One of my reasons to visit, was to try the Blue Corn, deep fried, Chili Relleno. NOT your typical Relleno, except the cheese stuffed pepper, but was well worth the try...you should try it too!It sat in a thin red pepper type sauce that is quite potent. I loved it, but it might be too "hot" for the weak palate. CAREFUL!Overall, it was a very worthwhile visit, albeit short due to the damn parking meter!!!Some amateur diners might think that the offerings are a bit pricey, but it's actually appropriate, given the ingredients, preparation, and this lovely economy!!!Kudos to the kitchen staff, Garrick and also Aristotle, another personable front of house guy.Parking: There's plenty of nearby parking, but... Parking for the Santa Ana Art Village is, from my perspective, all paid parking.THIS is the ONLY downside of my visit to this venue.$2.50 for an hour and fifteen minutes on the parking meter!!

Emily Lostaunau: I go for the vegan/vegetarian food and the amazing cocktails!I tried the carrot taco last time, mostly because I was curious. It was amazing!Vegetarian options: There are a number of vegetarian items on the menu, including 2-3 taco options.

Andres Guillen: They have mezcal, amazing tacos, and EXCELLENT customer service. What more can you ask for? The Sea of Cortez Tacos are my favorite.Recommended dishes Carnitas Tacos …

馬克田: I ate very authentic Peruvian food in California. The name of the restaurant is Ru. I ate food cooked by Peruvian mothers at home. The first time I ate Peruvian food was in California. To be honest, I felt as familiar as Taiwanese food because I eat it every day in the United States. I feel tired after eating burgers and cold dishes for a long time! Eating Peruvian food is like returning to Taiwan.

Arthur Sosa Jr.: The food was good and they have large portions. I think my only concern is that all the food that we ordered was sweetened. You can tell it all had added sugar. Other than that it was goodParking: Plenty of parking from the mall parking lot.

kcw26 williams: Love this place. Quite ambiance, friendly service, and most importantly, great tasting cuisine.

Lisseth Benavidez: Excellent service and tasty taste of the food.

Mario Cortes: I’ve been coming to this spot for over 10 years now and the food has never disappointed me. Their freshly made tortillas complement any dish they serve. If you want authentic Mexican food with a homemade taste you must try this spot. During my last visit I had a wet carne asada burrito and the sauce was amazing! If you are ever in the mood for cafe de olla or a Mexican beer, they have you covered. Although the ambiance is nothing to rave about, the food taste and quality will have you returning for more.

Jesse Gonzalez: The food here was delicious. I did not know what to expect when I walked in. Instead I was greeted by a very nice and friendly server. The chips and salsa was really, really good. I could have had just that as a meal. The molcajete was delicious and very well served, lots of meat and a steaming delicious salsa to go with it. All ingredients within were delicious. I had the 7 mares. While not the biggest portion I've had it was just average in size but not average in flavor. It was steaming hot served in a metal bowl that retains the heat well. The soup was delicious and a nice moderate mix of seafood is inside it.
