4worldlovers: Since the opening of the first restaurant over 60 years, Fugetsu has maintained the same quality and standards of Okonomiyaki – becoming one of the iconic and cultural staple food of Osaka, Japan. Our second US location was initially planned for as a sit-down restaurant, but the pandemic has forced us to pivot our plan into a brand new concept of a deli-style take-out only restaurant alongside many popular Japanese favorite packaged snacks and drinks.

Our specialties include Okonomiyaki, a savory pancake with a variety of meats and seafood mixed in batter with cabbage, thick and chewy Yakisoba noodles (*). Despite the change in our original plans, we are still bringing you the same quality okonomiyaki as well as adding Kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers – another Osaka delicacy) to our menu. We have also teamed up with Shalala, formerly located in Mountain View, where they’ll bring a variety of additional Japanese specialties. Sumiya Bento in Milpitas is now open Thu - Sun: 11:30a - 2:00p & 5:00p - 8:00p. Closed Mon - Wed.

Sumiya is open for dine-in everyday for dinner (from 5:30 pm) and Mon - Fri for lunch (from 11:30 am).

The charcoal grill gave everything an amazing smoky flavor. It was mild, but really enhanced every dish. Everything was cooked perfectly as well, not overdone and still tender. I don't want to overlook the rest of the menu though. Some of my favorite dishes weren't kabobs at all....
