This robust panel — comprised of a literary agent, an acquisitions editor and two authors — will help you crack the code. We’ll discuss the latest developments in the publishing industry and share success stories and tips for making your submission stand out. The panel will be followed by a Q & A and a mixer.

Vanessa Hua is a columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle and the author of A River of Stars, Deceit and Other Possibilities, and the forthcoming Forbidden City. A National Endowment for the Arts Literature Fellow, she has received a Rona Jaffe Foundation Writers’ Award, the Asian/Pacific American Award for Literature, a Steinbeck Fellowship and honors from the Society of Professional Journalists and the Asian American Journalists Association. Her work has appeared in publications including the New York Times, Washington Post, and The Atlantic. She has taught, most recently, at the Warren Wilson MFA Program for Writers and Sewanee Writers Conference.

There is street parking in this neighborhood, but the closest spot might be 3 blocks away. Arrive early to give yourself time to park. During evening classes, you might want to try Geary – the parking meters end at 6pm. During the day, the residential streets have unlimited parking.

This classroom is only open for classes. There is no administrative office.

The Zoom videoconference simulates an in-person classroom experience as closely as possible in an online format. To attend classes, you’ll need a phone, tablet or computer and access to the internet. You can participate in the class from wherever you’d like, whether on your living room couch or in your office.

The Daily Write Round Robin does not have any mandatory live class meetings. Students interact with each other and the facilitators entirely by email correspondence. Students must have daily access to email to participate in this class.
