ILRCSF relies on consumers to identify their own needs, and provides support, information, and advocacy based on these needs. ILRCSF advocates for individuals who experience disability-related barriers or discrimination, and also advocates to promote needed systems change so people with disabilities have full access to services, physical structures, and activities.

Our core program areas include independent living skills, information and referral services, peer support, assistive technology, institutional transition and diversion support, systems change advocacy and training, and youth services. Assistive Technology (AT) refers to the materials, equipment, tools, objects and devices and strategies that allow individuals to live with greater independence. ILRCSF’s AT program helps consumers identify their AT needs, find the AT that suits them best, provides free loans of equipment and, when needed, supports consumers as they explore various funding sources for permanent AT.

ILRCSF is a community-based not-for-profit organization that relies heavily on public support. Most permanent housing opportunities are available to current homeless individuals referred to THC through San Francisco’s Adult Coordinated Entry System.

THC runs three separate programs to provide safe and supportive housing for individuals needing stability and support while working to transition into permanent housing.

THC has been providing money management services to low-income tenants since 1988. The overarching goals of these services are to help clients maintain their housing and improve general quality of life.
