Absolutely unacceptable. We are on the Vetco Vital Care plan and our puppy needed to get spayed. They required a consultation prior which is fine but then charged us $150 for blood work before they could go forward with the surgery and specifically said the surgery had to be done within a week of the blood work… we went in on a Thursday and the technician, Jaron, told us we were all set for surgery on Tuesday. We called on Monday to make sure she didn’t need to fast prior and they said they had no record of her appointment. And they only had availability a few weeks out which would be when the blood work was no longer valid and we would have to pay for that again. When we called the tech, he showed really no care or compassion for the situation and essentially placed the blame on us. Incredibly concerning to have someone show such lack of compassion or care when we are trusting our dogs in their care. We have both of our dogs in the petco vital care program and will probably be cancelling after this experience.
