Charles Spears: Recommended dishes Carne Asada

James Vallejo: I went with the go to choice of a carne asada burrito and California Amber. The Amber was rather dry but made up for their fries. The carne asada was rather surprisingly good and if it’s your first time here it’s a good fall back choice. Service was great as it wasn’t packed. The atmosphere was ok granted it’s in downtown. A good quality about this place is that their large is actually a large than well a medium from other places. Honestly a nice place.

Carmen's Mexican Food: what do users think?

Mike Frey: I visited Carmen's Mexican food. I ordered a taco. It was a hard-shell Taco with minimal shredded beef/meat. The Taco was stuffed with lettuce and topped with cheese and looked generally tasty. The salsa was watered down a bit but was very spicy. Overall, it was better than the local fast-food restaurants in the area. The staff was friendly & nice like a local restaurant should be.

Steve Gonzales: I used to frequent Carmen's at their original location. The food was always wonderful and fresh. The family that owns it is the best and still areIve been to their current location in the past but it has been a few years.Today I came in to eat here again, after I'd guess close to 10 years since the last time. The food was exactly as I remember it. Delicious and fresh and hot.The best chicken burrito I've ever had is from Carmen's!!Still the same folks here that I remember from all those years ago.Very happy I came back today. It's nice to see a place that still cares about quality and making people happy.

duff fudd: This place is great. Victor is the main cook. If you order something, then be patient because it will taste great when it is served. Flavorful and not greasy. The salsa is excellent!Victor also supported making enough to build 60 tacos that we used for a work event. Food was packaged well and everyone enjoyed it.Finally, the place is genuinely friendly. I've been there three times and the amount of customers that come in and carry on detailed conversations with Victor is charming.

Maria Mongiardo: 🌮 Oscar’s Mexican Seafood Review - La Jolla Location 🌊During a sun-drenched escapade to San Diego, escaping the dearth of authentic Mexican fare back in Boston, we stumbled upon a local gem—Oscar’s Mexican Seafood, situated quaintly at 03 Turquoise St. True to its rave reviews, Oscar’s did not disappoint! 🤩The taco lineup was an epicurean parade, each brimming with fresh, vibrant toppings like cabbage, onion, tomato, cilantro, and the all-important slices of creamy avocado. The standout, without a doubt, was the Surf & Turf Taco—a heavenly amalgam of skirt steak and shrimp, melded together with cheese and avocado, creating a symphony of flavors. 🥩🍤🥑Not to be overshadowed, the Bluefin Tuna Ceviche was a revelation in its freshness, practically demanding to be devoured by any seafood aficionado. 🐟💦The tacos, from the crisply battered fish and shrimp to the uniquely satisfying grilled octopus, each scored a well-deserved 9/10 on my taco scale. The smoked fish taco, with its subtle smokiness, and the robust steak on flour were treats that spoke of the high-quality ingredients and care put into every dish.Adding a dollop of their diverse sauces only heightened the experience, each taco transforming into a personalized feast. And yes, they even let me sneak a peek behind the counter to see the masters at work—a true display of their open, inviting atmosphere. 🌟If your journeys ever take you near La Jolla, a visit to Oscar’s is a must. 🌮🍴

Miguel's Cocina: what do users think?

John Bathke: Great Mexican food! San Diego boasts many Mexican restaurants, so the competitions is strong. But, Miguel's serves very delicious Mexican fare. The tamales were great, topped with a tasty ranchero sauce. The refried beans were well-made, which is hard to do, in my opinion. The environment is a jovial, Mexican cantina. Since this location is in Old Town, parking can be tight, so anticipate that. But, the tortilla chips are warm, which is rare and appreciated. I've been to many Mexican places in San Diego, but I'll definitely plan to come back to this one.Parking: Restaurant is located in Old Town, which makes parking tough. They have a parking lot, but it's small. Be prepared to look or wait for parking.

James Whitaker: Fantastic food and service.

Justin Martin: Had a great experience here for my wife's bday. We usually go to another spot in old town just down the street but thought we'd try something new. Their free chips and cheese and or mild pepper dips to start are awesome, they have a couple different options for dipping sauce for your chips. Our entrees were delicious and served up quickly by very friendly dining facilitators Miguel and Karen...The wife's mud pie bday desert was amazing and they're not stingy with the portion. Julio the manager stopped by at the end of our meal to make sure we had a great experience and give us some history of the restaurant and other places we could frequent owned by the same company. All in all, excellente!

Dili Gao: Definitely a 5-star food dinner experience for me! Food is authentic, delicious. I’m from the city area and do love Mexican food and dine a lot in Mexican restaurants. But I’ve never had a burrito that is so well done: very thin tortilla wrap, with juicy food well wrapped in. The seafood cocktail is well seasoned and loaded too. I have to say comparing with their burrito, the ones I had before are so dry and the wrap were usually double the thickness. I told my husband I feel like someone who’s been eating fast food dry burgers finally got a taste of a real, juicy burger in a good place lol

Jayz93J: Food: 3/5

Dustin Osborne: My go spot for a California Burrito.Expect to wait, they are slow. Try calling in your order, arrive 20 min later, and your food might be ready. might.

Lysa Price: Had a great time at The Blind Borough! The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, perfect for a night out.The tacos were really interesting and packed with flavor—each one a delightful surprise. The service was top-notch, with friendly staff who made great recommendations. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to enjoy some unique and delicious Mexican cuisine.

Simon Perkins: This spot is like block from the Padres stadium so you can enjoy a meal and drink before you enter or a drink after. The average cost a plate is $23, I would recommend paying the $2 uncharged for the corn, well worth it, definitely better then rice or beans. For a starter I would get the salsa flight, it comes with 4 salsa a flavor and spice level for everyone. They have outdoor seating with shade cover for those nice days, and great for people watching. Good restaurant decor, a lot of seating plus they also have to bars with seating at both. The quality of the is decent, nothing rave about, but a good spot for an outing with friends.

Anderson Chen: . The fried food or grilled chicken wings as appetizers are not special in themselves, but the dipping sauce They are all very attentive and will improve the quality of the food a lot!The most recommended dessert is churros! It’s not dipped in chocolate, but the sugar content and mild cinnamon flavor are very delicious!

Donna Grosch: We go to the Blind Burro every time we go the see the Padres. We are an older couple and they have always been very accommodating with regards to our seating needs. The service is outstanding!! The food as well. Even when very crowded we are treated like it’s a family owned business, with family pride, which it is. The staff is always very friendly and polite. We have tried other restaurants near the park and the Blind Burro is by far the best. BTW: Their churros dessert is Incredible!

Bronson Ferri: I got the carne asada chimichanga just now and it was phenomenal. Waitstaff were all super nice. It's only a block from Petco Park. This place is great!Dietary restrictions: I asked for two ingredient omissions and they nailed it. 👍Parking: Nearby lots, nothing on premises.Wheelchair accessibility: No steps in, single level. Handicap accessible restroom.
