Madonna del Sasso School, set in the heart of Salinas, has been educating students since 1957. We are a Preschool through 8th grade Parish School. At Madonna del Sasso School, we strive to help each graduate become a person of faith, a critical thinker and an active member of the community.

4worldlovers: After several years of careful deliberation within our community, I am proud to announce that Palma School will accept young women, grades 9-12, beginning with the 2024/2025 school year.

For a number of months, Palma's leadership engaged with the Diocese of Monterey to investigate the possibility of establishing a co-educational high school in the Salinas Valley. After a study conducted during the Fall/Winter 2021/2022 by Catholic School Management, Bishop Daniel Garcia and then-Provincial Leader of the Edmund Rice Christian Brothers, Brother Kevin Griffith, released a joint statement that concluded: "The families and children in the northern part of the Diocese of Monterey could be better served by a co-educational high school structure in Salinas."

Since the release of that statement, Palma School and Diocesan leadership teams have actively explored a path to bring this vision into reality. Unfortunately, circumstances at this time prevent the Diocese and Palma from cooperatively forming a co-educational high school.

With a resolve to serve all of our local young people, while following the direction of this study and the wishes of our community, we are excited to come full circle back to Palma School's co-educational roots.

Undoubtedly, this announcement will generate more questions than it answers. I promise we will gather to address our families/community in the coming weeks. I want to thank the Palma and Diocesan leadership's work over these past months and our entire community for your love and passion for Catholic education in our area.

Robert Burlison '74. Outstanding athlete and coach. Coached Palma to the 1992 D-IV basketball state championship.

Steve Clayton '76. Valedictorian, athlete-of-the-year, outstanding athlete, teacher and coach. Steve was also Palma’s athletic director for 23 years.

David Esquer '83. Valedictorian, three-sport athlete, team captain and MVP in baseball, football, and basketball. Dave is the head baseball coach at Stanford.

David Fales '09. Outstanding athlete. Tri--county offensive MVP and all-league as quarterback. He played for SJSU, Chicago Bears and Miami Dolphins.

Marc Matock '94. Outstanding athlete. One of the best defensive lineman ever at Palma. He played for USC and was signed by the Detroit Lions.

4worldlovers: We would like to introduce to the community Dr. Natalie Zayas! I am excited to be back at Oasis! I taught here in the past. I am a project-based educator and Constructivist. I bring 24 years of experience in education from preschool to higher education. I have taught elementary, middle school, high school and university level students. My experience also includes being a program coordinator, department chair, mentoring teachers and faculty at the university. My education includes a bachelor degree in liberal studies with a minor in science, a master degree in Education with a focus in technology and a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership and Change. I also hold many teaching certificates and credentials. I love Oasis and education. When I am not working, I spend time with my dogs, hike, kayak, SCUBA, travel, snorkel, read, and my favorite is spending time with family. Please join us in WELCOMING Natalie to our community!!
