Our paddle boat rentals, called El Estero Boating, are located across the lake from world-famous Dennis the Menace Park, within the City of Monterey’s larger El Estero Park.​


There are plenty of things to do in Monterey and so much to do within this beautiful park… it offers our great paddle boat rides, the always-fun Dennis the Menace Park, picnic and barbecue areas, fishing piers, a skatepark, and more. Our Paddle Boat Fleet on Lake El Estero consists of well-maintained fiberglass boats. Children and adults of all ages can ride them. Young children must be accompanied by an adult.


Boat capacity is 5 people per boat with a 4 adult per boat maximum.

We made a last minute decision to go whale watching and were lucky enough to grab a seat with Chris' team. I am a big review reader and based on reviews we chose Chris. The tour did not disappoint and lived up to all the reviews and more! We lost count of all the whales we saw. If you want a great experience, use this company. Family owned and operated and some of the nicest and most knowledgeable people you will find. Also, talk to Pete if he's on board. What a great guy that is full of good information and such a pleasant human. Families, couples, and all aboard enjoyed it.

The crew were so kind and knowledgeable! They got us to the right place to give our whole group, ages 15 to 71, the have an amazing experience. I appreciate they were able to make accommodations for my father who gets around with a walker...he had a great time! Bring a jacket and maybe some gloves for when the weather kicks up and you will love every minute!

We reserved our whale watching tour last minute and chose Chris' Whale Watching because of the promise of a smaller boat and more personal experience compared to the larger companies and we were not disappointed! We got up close to quite a few whales, stayed quite a while, and got an amazing experience. The staff was knowledgeable and informative without being in your face. Even the captain was wowed by what we got to see that day. Everyone on the trip had a great time, kids through older adults. Highlight of our trip. We would go back in a heartbeat.

Sailing is an eco-friendly way to see the bay. Our sail boats use the power of the wind on 90% of each trip, burning diesel only to exit and enter the harbor. Meanwhile, other boating trips consume huge amounts of fossil fuels. Also, sailing is quiet and does not disturb marine life communication.


Our captains are well trained, professional, and passionate about sailing. Most importantly, they put safety first and make sure that you are are comfortable.


Although our catamaran can carry 25 passengers, we limit our capacity to ensure everyone onboard enjoys space and comfort.


Capt. Paul provided an outstanding tour of the bay! Experience was as if a friend took us out on his boat. Excellent directions to the landing point and perfect recommendations for local lunch restaurants. Definitely recommend this tour!

The BLACKFIN is a 65' Catamaran with capacity of 125 passengers and Upstairs/Downstairs Inside/Outside seating and viewing.

The Sea Wolf II is a 70' single hull vessel, capacity 69 passengers, with inside and outside seating.

The Point Sur Clipper is a 55' single hull vessel, capacity 48 (similarly equipped as the Sea Wolf II).

All of our vessels are fully Coast Guard Inspected and insured. Each vessel carries life vests for all passengers and all required safety equipment. Our vessels are equipped with navigation devices, radar, marine radios, depth sounders and two restrooms. Each vessel has Eco-Friendly Turbo Diesel engines.
