Hyatt Regency Sacramento: what do users think?

Dave Skorupski: Located next to the Capitol Building in the heart of Downtown Sacramento, this is the very definition of what a high-end hotel ought to be!The staff is super-friendly and the service is top notch, from the check-in desk, to the room service, to the wait-staff in the restaurants - all are very polite and positive.Rooms are clean and spacious, with all rooms overlooking some portion of the city. Of course, the higher the floor, the better the view.Vines restaurant has an excellent breakfast menu with large portions - you get what you pay for! Dawson's is a high-end steakhouse and I highly recommend the chicken. The hotel has an outdoor pool that's protected from the public by tall trees. There are also conference rooms and halls for conventions. An attached multi-level garage can accommodate hundreds of cars. The hotel is easily accessible for the mobility-challenged.

Cliff: I was part of a conference at the Convention Center and my company made reservations here. We got upgraded to a suite and had a productive time. The accommodations and staff are the best.Rooms: Our room was tastefully furnished and had everything we needed. Our room was close to something that woke us up in the middle of the night...not sure if plumbing or maintenance work. We did not check into it.Walkability: View of the Capitol from my room. Walking distance to the Capitol, Convention Center, restaurants, and State and Federal offices.

Clara Kapraun: Great hotel, beautiful inside. The receptionist was very welcoming. Sheraton Club breakfast was very good lots of options. The afternoon there were no snacks available except bkfst bars and fruit, The dinner was just a cheese plate not replenished, vegetables not replenished, crackers, deviled eggs and chicken bites with BBQ sauce. Wine or cocktails available for purchase, not complimentary. No actual dinner is offered. Just light bites that ended at 7pm. That was disappointing. Otherwise lovely hotel and rooms.

Julie Jeffery: The person at the desk was very kind and gave us an early check in. It was nice to spend some quality time with my sister catching up in a clean and comfortable room for a few hours. Something odd happened that night though…We’d just gone to bed when we heard someone try to open the door. I heard a voice that sounded weirdly like my sister’s say something about the card not working. Then I distinctly heard my own voice say “I’ll try mine.” The handle rattled again, but they couldn’t get in. My sister and I looked at each other, totally stunned, and then I jumped up to look out the peep hole. I saw what was unmistakably my sister and myself in the same clothes we’d worn that night standing in the bright fluorescent-lit lobby outside. At that same moment I saw us, this vision flashed in my mind’s eye of a dark road, a line of headlights, screeching tires, a crash from behind, and hopelessly careening into oncoming traffic. I jumped, remembered where I was, and blinked. Our doppelgängers had totally disappeared. We never saw or heard them again, but the next night as we drove home, we were trying to make a left turn on a dark and busy road. Someone behind us was impatient and zoomed around from our right as we were turning. It was a narrow miss. The vision from the previous night flashed before my eyes and something in me understood that that other version of my sister and myself, whatever plain of existence they were on, didn’t make it. They—we—died on that dark road.

Alec Young: ; clean rooms; comfortable bed and pillows; cold a/c; small microwave and fridge; small but adequate gym; free delicious coffee & hot water; rooms are accessed through the enclosed

inès: Very satisfied with this hotel! Welcomed by a receptionist with very good advice, attentive and smiling! For the rooms, quality bedding.Very well located hotel in Sacramento!

Aleksander Thomas: Everything here is absolutely on point 5 star service. Nice big comfy rooms and Franco is a super polite very helpful guy. Keep up the great work guys.Rooms: Rooms are very modern and really sizeable actually .The shower was amazing and the mirror is everything.Nearby activities: There's a gym, all the shopping on zinfandel,a goodwill and falling prices, also if you get really bored and can't sleep all of the front desk crew are super friendly.Safety: Security comes several times a night. I felt really safe.Walkability: Next to Brookfields restaurant, 7-Eleven,and the sunrise lightrail station..Food & drinks: Great breakfast. Eggs, sausage, waffles, fresh fruit, yogurt, toast, muffins, cereal. Great way to wake up.

Nalonni Madden: but way better than checking into a hotel room and finding used face towels

Wilfred Valtakis: Had a great time, breakfast buffet was super nice and convenient, Javier was super nice and very funny. Troy Van Houten: Really a beautiful hotel situated on the river. Room was clean and spacious with great views. Very near to Sacramento old town where there's great little stores and eateries. We'll lit walking path along the river board walk. Easy Uber trip from the airport. Excellent morning breakfast selection eating area. We really loved this place coming from Idaho to get a car from a dealership that we'd found online.Rooms: Clean and spaciousSafety: Well lit area, a few homeless around, sensed no dangerWalkability: Great walking or running path along the river.Food & drinks: Great in-house restaurant and many other local places to eat within walking distance.

Location is perfect for attending events and enjoying the vibrant nights.Nearby activities: Park across the street, Golden One center a few blocks away, great dining all aroundWalkability: Convenient and centrally locatedFood & drinks: Great drinks and staff was friendly and courteous

Mitch Couch: What an absolutely amazing experience. From checking in to checkout, everything about my stay here was perfect. The staff was so nice and professional that I'll never stay anywhere else when visiting Sacramento.Rooms: Rooms were spacious and very clean.Nearby activities: There is an amazing park right across the street.

C.S. Engeron: This hotel has a great ambiance. It is a good 4 or 5 blocks from the convention center and state capitol, but what it lacks in convenient proximity, is definitely made up for in its character. The political cartoons and quotes that were used as art were hilarious. There was always fresh lemon water in the lobby. The room I was in was extremely small but had everything I needed for my work trip. I used the work desk every day, as well as the well stocked coffee station. Also, the housekeeping staff could not have been better! They were kind and attentive and made sure to ask if I needed anything any time I left the room.Highly recommend a stay here.Rooms: The room was really small compared to the hotels I usually stay at next to the convention center but it had everything I needed.

Jenna Billig: Great room in a cool old building, felt more like home than a hotel room.Valet parking was prompt- Edgar and Annesia were fantastic, always quick to retrieve the car, friendly to talk to and provided top notch valet service. Will stay again when in Sacramento.Rooms: 5/5Hotel highlights Luxury …

Eric Brown: The initial contact at the front counter was by a gentleman named Gregory. Extremely professional and pleasant. Made me feel welcomed to the hotel. By the time my wife and I departed for our room, I felt like I've known Gregory for years. In the morning when we checked out, we were greeted warmly by two employees, Sunita and Jada.Friendly and professional. I was genuinely impressed with these two ladies. You have assets that make the hotel experience that much better. The security guard was friendly and professional. We felt great and safe upon our departure.

Macroaquire: Very nice Holiday Inn. Professional staff. Clean rooms. Great restaurant and Bar. Great location.Rooms: Very clean, nice rooms.

Joanna Garneau: I had a maintenance issue during my most recent stay at this Holiday Inn, honestly I have had minor maintenance or cleanliness issues each time I stayed here. The difference this time was Chris, among other team members. Chris was friendly and warm during my check-in and proceded to assist me with a room change, despite a full hotel. His response to my concerns made me feel that he genuinely cared about my stay and comfort level. In addition, the evening Engineering team was friendly as well as the bellhop and other front office staff. I was attending a conference the following day, the service staff for the event were also fabulous and kind! Someone has done a great job picking team members for this hotel. Nice work! 👏

Claudia Marin: , Linda's exemplary service truly stood out. I had a great stay and she made me feel so welcome!

Christal Fowler: ... Thank you for everything!Oh yeah one more thing. Tonight Swasey was only person at the front desk while I was checking in. There was about 4-5 sets of guests checking in. she gave everyone A++++ services and was so quick. She is top notch

Cindy Wong: great customer service - definitely deserved a tip 😉 felt spoiled staying here.

Uday Ghattamaneni: Hotel highlights Great value

A closer walk with thee: Went to visit my daughter who came into town for a night.Hotel is beautiful. Rooms are Amazing!!! Super spacious.A lot to do in the hotel and around the hotel.Walkability: A lot of restaurants and shops nearby

April Appah: Noteworthy details: We were so pleased with our stay here. The complimentary breakfast was lovely both mornings. Located right next to shopping centers and many restaurants makes it convenient. Every encounter with staff was pleasant. The room was extremely comfortable and clean with more than expected amenities. Ev charging for our car in premises, and no parking fee which has become very common.

Lola Grace: :Tonight, Bernard the AGM of the hotel called me and apologized for the incident below. He was extremely kind and understanding of my situation and explained that there are technical issues where the number of rooms available is different between the website and the front desk.Bernard was a consummate professional but also very friendly. He offered several solutions, and I appreciated the time and effort he took to try and make a bad situation better. I'm still relocating but now it is out of convenience rather than anger. I'm grateful for the kindness—I needed it, especially after having a very bad day today. I left that review while angry, and if I can give other customers advice, if you have an incident of poor customer service, sit with it for a bit before you go off online. Sometimes it really is just a misunderstanding and you'll see it clearer after you stew for a bit.NOW FOR THE OTHER STUFF. This hotel is very nice, Clean, bright, spacious and comfortable. The rooms are well-appointed and I like how despite being directly next to the highway, I can barely hear the traffic except as a comforting hum. The beds are clean and comfortable and the bathroom and shower are spacious. I am in a suite and I really appreciate being able to cook for myself in a proper kitchen. Staff have been friendly. Elevators are a little scary but that might just be me. Location is aces, you're right next to 80 and 5, and Walmart, Target, Raley's, and Safeway, plus a myriad restaurants, are within a few minutes' drive. There are EV charging stations and disabled parking close to the door. The free breakfast is pretty good. All in all, this is one of the better hotels in the Sacramento area, and more affordable than anything downtown. Having spoken to Bernard and hearing him out as he explained the situation, I would stay here again. I don't have much cause to be in Sacramento, but if I did have to come back I would look here for availability first.Thank you, Bernard. You are very good at your job and probably not paid nearly enough.I'm going to leave this up so people can see how effective good customer service is. From my original review: I am in Sacramento because my father died suddenly on Valentine's Day, 2024. I had to make an unexpected, 3000 mile trip from the east coast to California to handle his affairs. I am an only child and I am doing this alone with very little family support. I'm stressed, traumatized, and grieving. As it turns out, a few days isn't long enough to close the curtain on someone's life. I needed to extend my stay by three days, and when I asked if I could the woman at the front desk told me to just book the stay and they'd keep me in the same room. My current reservation ends on the 21st, so needed to book from February 21-24. Somehow, between the time I spoke to her and the time I got upstairs to book the room, the hotel "magically" sold out of any rooms on the 21st alone. I went to talk to the front desk again, and she offered to put me in a different room, a regular king—for over $200 more than I would have paid for the same room, had it not mysteriously disappeared in fifteen minutes. I am operating on a tight budget and a GoFundMe, so I can't afford to throw another $600 at a hotel when I also have to spend $2000 cremating my father, on my birthday, later this week.I booked another hotel for those extra days, and as soon as my stay here is complete I will relocate.

Lucas A: Let’s go with the cons first:Rooms are small. Floors are uneven. Doorways are small. Overhead clearances are low. Water pressure can leave some things to be desired. Parking is not included. You can hear noise from seals and people.Next- this is a nearly 100 year old river boat that cruised this very river that it is moored on. It was salvaged and saved and retrofitted into the hotel that it is now. You’ll be hard pressed to find anything like it. If you’re needing a more traditional hotel experience, do not say on a retrofitted paddle wheel river boat. Trying to compare this hotel to others makes no sense. Judge it for what it is. The bed was comfortable and all staff I interacted with were very nice.Didn’t eat at the restaurant but the bar had a super cool atmosphere and the drinks and service were good.Would I stay here for a month? No. Was it perfect for a night in Sacramento where I was looking for a memorable experience? Absolutely.

Ikram Haque: Great hotel! Great view! Rooms are smallish but well kept and comfortable! The AC was very cold. I guess that's OK on a hot day, but gets really cold at night.Restaurant serves really good food but service can be slow. I had to track down someone to take my order. But the view and quality of food makes up for it. Price is not too outrageous!

Malachi Stewart: Thank you Alfred for making todays breakfast for the Mount Shasta highschool so amazing, I’ve never wrote a review for any hotels breakfast but on behalf of the upward bound program from Mount Shasta highschool we thank you for making our day so special with the amazing fresh fruits and food making sure not to let anything run out. Best hotel breakfast ever by far thank you again Alfred. ☺️Food & drinks: Best hotel breakfast ever.

Sarah Gray Horwood: This is a great Hampton Inn. I love staying at Hampton inn since no matter where you go, you know what to expect. You get a complimentary breakfast that has enough variety in the morning, including waffles, eggs, bagels, fruits. There is always hot water/coffee that you can grab at any time downstairs. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff at the his location was very nice. If I am in the area again, will stay here for sure.

Benjamin Ang: The room I stayed in was very clean and comfortable, extremely spacious for what I was expecting. In addition the bathroom was large and although I didn't need it, had accessibility features. The free breakfast in the morning was extremely convenient and was great to get some coffee and some food in my stomach quickly before I went off to work. The location was also pretty convenient, not too far from downtown and there were plenty of nearby restaurants to get takeout from. Overall I had a pleasant experience and would stay here again, especially for the the price point.

Mike s: Nice hotel in a good location near airport and close to downtown and highways. Grounds and lobby were clean. Check in was easy and very friendly. They have a free shuttle to airport. They were very accommodating. Room was updated and very clean. Bed was good and soft pillows. Lots of parking. There is a charge for breakfast. Lots of restaurants in the area. Would recommend.

Robert Fortner: The staff was friendly and courteous. The room was clean and quiet. The shower had great pressure and hot water!! The location is very convenient for getting to and from the airport. My only complaint is that there are only a few restaurant options outside of chain and fast food. Though you are very close to an In N Out so that got an extra star.

Anony Mous: for airport. Nice shuttle service and although we came back late the hotel sent a Lyft instead for pickup. For the Lyft service the communication was a bit spotty as was unsure when the car was coming and who to look out for. It ended up working out in the end.

Olamitunde Richards:  is only 9 miles away, making it an ideal choice for travelers.Rooms: The guest rooms at Hilton Garden Inn are up-to-date and thoughtfully designed. Whether you’re here for business or leisure, you’ll appreciate the complimentary parking, 24-hour fitness center, and the beautiful outdoor pool. The hotel also boasts banquet meeting spaces, perfect for events or conferences.Nearby activities: Within a short distance, you’ll find some of Sacramento’s favorite restaurants and bars. Consider visiting:• Crawdad’s on the River: A riverside gem for seafood lovers.• Chevy’s on the River: Enjoy Mexican cuisine with a view.• The Virgin Sturgeon: A classic American spot for great food and ambiance.• Swabbies Restaurant & Bar: A local favorite for live music and waterfront dining.

Jacob Ingram: Best shrimp tacos I’ve ever had in Sacramento!Rooms were quite nice.Staff was friendly. A+ in my book.

Bradley White: Nice building and bar but average to below average rooms for the price point

Norman-Angelo Calderon: An awesome place to stay near the Sutter Sacramento Hospital....within walking distance, great food and drinks too. With nearby Public Parking Space for $18 Whole DayRooms: Clean, Cozy and RelaxingWalkability: 3 minutes walk from the Hospital Main EntranceFood & drinks: Great Dinner and Bar

Angela Bakkom: Nice hotel room, service and location. We stopped here on our way to Arizona. We chose the location to show our granddaughter the capital of California. The hotel was a nice walk from the capital through a nice neighborhood of old houses.Hotel staff was very nice. The only minor issues was that the room didn’t have a mini fridge and the coffee maker was an oddly designed Kurig style machine. These were very minor inconveniences.Walkability: Nice old neighborhood with many restaurant within walking distance.

Conner Colvin: But not only is the staff amazing the food is fantastic. I think we tried everything on the menu and the rooms are beautiful, well kept and clean... We just truly cannot say enough good things about this establishment and their staff. They were our lifeline this week and we are so incredibly grateful!!! They were all truly amazing!!!

Tyler Buer: The hotel itself is nice, and the lobby looks elegant. The room is standard fare, and does not include a fridge. The biggest problem with this hotel is the lack of parking associated with the hotel. You have to find separate parking, the closest one being the garage next door that you have to pay minimum $6 or $18 for overnight. And the hotel does not validate parking.

Michael Soldate: My stay at the Marriott in Sacramento was nothing short of exceptional. Situated in the most perfect location, it's a stone's throw away from all the bustling bars, restaurants, and event venues, making exploration effortless. The view from my room was simply breathtaking, overlooking the lush gardens and the majestic Capitol building. The complementary breakfast and coffee in the morning were a delightful treat, setting the tone for a wonderful day ahead. Parking was a breeze, and being able to walk everywhere downtown added a layer of convenience to my stay. But what truly stood out was the impeccable service provided by the staff; their warmth and attentiveness made me feel truly valued as a guest. Considering the prime location, the quality of amenities, and the outstanding service, the prices for the room were more than reasonable. My experience at the Marriott in Sacramento was nothing short of memorable, and I wouldn't hesitate to return.Rooms: My room had a full kitchen suite with a full-size refrigerator a living room couch, a desk and then a separate area where the bedroom room was.Nearby activities: Everything under the sun is nearby. You have the convention center the Golden one center the area they do plays several concert venues. You have the strip of downtown all the hottest nightclubs and bars endless what you have around you.Walkability: It is the best walk ability. It’s right in the heart of the downtown and Midtown border so you are about 1 to 3 blocks away from every single location.Noteworthy details: The complementary breakfast is great in the morning while nothing special. The lobby is really nice and updated and the staff is very helpful.

Judith Myers: Well-planned studio. Great location close to the convention center. Great selections for complimentary breakfast.

Frank Bigelow: This place is super nice and the rooms are great.Rooms: The suites are good sized.Walkability: So many restaurants close by. Also very close to the capital.

Mike Lok: I stayed here for a work trip. I can't speak to the price, because my work handled the booking. What I can say is the hotel is conveniently located in midtown, within walking distance of the State Capitol, several government agency buildings and the Sacramento Convention Center, among other places. There are several restaurants and bars in walking distance. My room, a one room suite was clean and comfortable.I used the fitness center on the second floor which was pretty well stocked.

Reina Cruz: Rooms: Room was nice, but I never had warm or hot water. It made it frustrating to shower.Nearby activities: Lots of places nearby to explore.

Guillermo and Isabel Ruvalcaba: We traveled here for a CHP academy ceremony and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The breakfasts were delicious and the staff were kind. A very special pillow was left behind on accident and the hotel staff found it and gave it to our family members that hadn’t checked out yet. That’s going above and beyond in my book! One thing to note though…apparently, no pet dogs are allowed, despite several staff confirming by phone that they are, so pet parents beware! The hotel next door accepts them though so no cause for alarm.
