I teach from a street level, practical application-based system. Instructing the fundamentals of song playing from the ground up, which I have coined the "Stair Step" method. This system has proven to work for all ages & all learning styles.
I currently play in 6 working bands including a Jazz/Latin quartet, a Pop/Rock band for Kids & families, a Blues Brothers tribute band, a Bagpipe Marching band and to round off the week...a couple of church bands. Check out my Facebook page for more on that under"Chris Amato"

Michelle Blanton: My 10 year old has been taking drum lessons, and now singing lessons, for 3 years at the Music Lab in East Sac. His 7 year old brother is now starting as well. Both instructors, Cameron - drums, and Laith - voice, are top-notch. They connect well with kids, are patient, and easy to communicate with. There are plenty of places to yet music lessons around town, yet we choose to drive 30 minutes weekly because of the quality of the instructors. Not only are both kids making growth in their musical ability, they are having fun, have become more confident, and have developed a positive relationship with quality role-models. I highly recommend the Music Lab.

Michael Spagnolo: When I started taking lessons with Alex I already had a lot of experience on the drums. Lessons that focused on fundamentals and technique deepened my understanding of the more intricate details of my instrument, something I had fallen back on in recent years. Alex was very helpful in explaining things that I was having difficulty understanding, and he was able to accommodate me when it came to repertoire that I was preparing for my class.
