Aquila Fitness was started in 2008 as CrossFit East Sacramento and was the first full-scale CrossFit gym in the Sacramento area. We service members from Roseville, Folsom, Elk Grove, Rancho Cordova, and Citrus Heights. Metabolic conditioning or metcon is the practice of mixing all of the different fitness modalities into short high-intensity workouts. Cardio is the enemy to your fitness results as cardio leads to muscle wasting. Muscle is the most metabolically active tissue in the body. The more dense you can make your muscle, the higher you can drive your resting metabolism. Stay away from exercise with the intention of burning calories and spend your time on an exercise that builds your resting metabolic rate.
