    The water level at Folsom Lake dictates the type of recreation and length of the season. During years with normal precipitation the main recreational season is May through Labor Day in September. During the remaining months of the year use of Folsom Lake drops considerably. The desired reservoir elevation for recreation is approximately 435' to 455'. Above 455' less beach is available for swimmers and sunbathers, and below 435' feet the waterline is too great a distance from parking areas. Another problem with lower lake levels is that, at 426', boat ramps around the lake go out of service, and the only marina at the lake cannot moor most boats when the lake level is below an elevation of 412 feet.

    Granite Bay is an ideal location to bring your family to enjoy Folsom Lake. The sandy beach, buoyed swim area and lifeguard services during the summer season make this area a safe location for swimming and playing in the water. Barbecue pits, shade areas and large grassy areas can accommodate many family picnics and otheractivities.

    The Granite Bay snack bar also rents beach equipment. The beach equipment includes kayaks, paddle boards, volleyball sets, shade canopies and rafts of all sizes. Additionally catering for family and company picnics as well as group discount rental rates are available. Contact the snack bar for more information at 916-740-0459.

    Barbecue pits, shade areas and large grassy areas can accommodate many family picnics and other activities.

    Beal's Point is one of two locations on the lake that allows overnight camping in the campground.

    Another popular feature is access to the American River bicycle trail. This 32-mile paved trail starts at Beal's Point and follows the scenic American River to Old Sacramento.

    I've been staying here with my dog for a few weeks now. I haven't heard any noise or voices from any of my neighbors. It's very quiet. It is a 55+ community, with a few exceptions for those without children. Comcast cable is not available here, but the unlimited T-mobile Home internet is for only 50 a month unlimited. The mailbox is at the site. The sites do require a dog bone for 30 amp rigs. The sites are wide in 3 sections, concrete Porch, gravel for the rig and asphalt for the tow vehicle. It's really convenient. Trash is located at the each site with individual cans which are picked up on Fridays. You do great the vehicles and freeway near by. But that's why this is a great place, it's so close to everything. Im very happy so far.

    4worldlovers: River Bend Park is one of Sacramento’s oldest county parks. A long central road paralleling the river links you to this park’s many recreation facilities. Wild turkeys and deer rustle in the grass beneath young oaks, while the bright green, carefully cared-for picnic area is a delicious place to stop for lunch.

    River Bend Park has 444 acres, and was acquired in stages between 1961 and 1964.

    It was one of the original three areas along the Parkway purchased by the County.

    From U.S. Highway 50, take the Bradshaw Road off-ramp. Turn right at Folsom Boulevard and follow the brown-and-white signs to the park entrance on Rod Beaudry Drive.

    River Bend Park is a welcome stop along the Jedediah Smith Memorial Trail, just across the Harold Richey Bicycle Bridge from William B. Pond Park. The bridge offers a spectacular view of the American River.

    The park is a common take-out spot for commercial rafting companies and for recreational rafters alike.

    Horse and hiking trails wind through the park like ribbons of recreational enjoyment.

    The park is open year-round from sunrise to sunset. Self-payment is required if no fee collector is present. Special Event fees vary by event.
