Michael and I have made the decision to take a step back from full-time production farming in order to focus our energy on other ways we can support the farming community. Farmer Michael has accepted a position at the CDFA in their Farm to School program! He is thrilled to be able to help small farms build the connections they need to be successful. Farmer Shanon is excited to re-invent the farm as a part-time/smaller scale operation. We will be going from 7 employees to just her (and a toddler) so have patience/flexibility as she figures out what this will look like. Growing food full-time for our community for the past 12 years has been the most beautiful, humbling, experience of our lives. This land, this work has shaped who we are and we are forever grateful to call ourselves farmers and for the many lessons farming has taught us.

4worldlovers: The Natural Trading Company Organic Farm is looking for bright, enthusiastic, hard-working people to help with field work. We are looking for candidates who are motivated, dependable, and able to work quickly and efficiently with the physical stamina to work long days outside in challenging weather.


Relevant experience includes agriculture, construction, kitchen, or other high-paced work experience. The ideal candidate is someone with a high work drive who is looking for organic farming experience at a successful 25+ year farm business. You should be comfortable working in extreme weather including cold and wet conditions in the early spring and high heat in the summer, and be able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly. Candidates should enjoy working outside, enjoy physical work, and keeping up the pace. We depend on everyone to show up regularly and reliably to keep up with the demands of diversified vegetable farming. A passion for organic food and farming are a big plus.

Located in the beautiful foothills of the Sierra Nevada, 30 miles northeast of Sacramento, Natural Trading Co is a 40-acre organic mixed-vegetable farm, orchard, and micro-greens greenhouse. We sell our produce at farmers’ markets in the Sacramento foothills and Tahoe/Truckee areas, in addition to deliveries to local supermarkets, co-ops, and distributors.

4worldlovers: As we are heading into summer and the wonderful SUN is warming the soil the plants are growing their fruits again, faithfully this season. We look gratefully forward to all the bounty that is Natures Shared Abundance.

We are aware of the dryness of the land, and are painfully aware of the shortages that could change all of this abundance seemingly overnight.

In spite of this, we are planting seeds and seedlings as fast as we can clear the beds of spring weeds and new grasses. At Shared Abundance Organic Farm we practice regenerative agriculture, which has in mind with each process the health, vitality and quality of the soil.

We are interested in working with nature through biodiversity to protect and regenerate the soil and soil organisms, which then provide the nourishment to the plants. These healthy plants then regenerate our bodies. It is now well known that our bodies are a direct reflection of the health and wellness of our soil and Mother Earth, and her foods and medicines that we enjoy daily. As we rebuild the soil, it translates across to heal our bodies.

We never apply ANY synthetic chemicals to our land or plants (since of course they damage, even Eliminate the life in the soil, damage water purity, and leave traces that harm the people who would eat them).

We sell to stores, food hubs, we are also at the farmers markets year round, as well as provide a weekly bag to local families and individuals through our CSA.

At our Farmers Markets aswell as in our CSA bags you can expect to see beautiful and tasty fruits and vegetables, wild foods, herbs and flowers including but not limited to;
