The Library Advisory Board (LAB) advises and makes recommendations to the Board of Supervisors (BOS) and the Director of Library Services concerning policies and procedures for the operation of the Placer County Library System. The LAB also studies and reviews plans and programs for the long-term development of Placer County Library, and advocates in support of building strong communities and connecting people for a better future.


Two new AWE All-In-One Early Literacy Stations are now available at Rocklin Library, and one new All-In-One AfterSchool Edge Station is ready to use at Auburn Library! These standalone computers feature award-winning, preloaded educational games designed for children ages 2-8 and 6-12 respectively, and also include homeschool resources. Special thanks to the Friends of the Rocklin Library for funding two new workstations that offer over 75 learning programs!


Auburn, Foresthill, and Granite Bay Library locations also have existing AWE Early Literacy stations available.


AWE computers are designed to support school readiness and early education while making learning exciting and engaging. The Early Literacy Stations (ELS) programs span every curriculum area: reading, language arts, STEM, social studies, writing, graphic arts, typing, music, and more. Content is correlated to Common Core standards. The ELS's imaginative interface encourages readers' and pre-readers' exploration.


Auburn’s AfterSchool Edge Station features 70 programs offering 4,000+ multicurricular and STREAM-aligned learning activities that are not only fun for kids, but make this the ideal resource for enrichment, homework help, and skill reinforcement.

No library card is needed to use an AWE computer – you can sit down and start playing and learning immediately! AWE Learning workstations are available on a first-come, first-served basis. These stations are not connected to the internet, ensuring a safer digital learning environment.
