4worldlovers: Summit Tamalpais is a unique public school located in San Pablo, CA. We provide a college-ready, personalized learning experience in a dynamic, diverse student community. We are tuition-free and open to all students. We opened our doors in the fall of 2016 and are currently serving students from grade 7 to grade 12. We graduated our founding class in June 2022.


School applications for the 2023-2024 school year are now open! Be sure to apply by the February 17, 2023 deadline!

Applications received by this deadline will be included in our public lottery, held on March 2 at 4:00PM. On Friday, March 3, 2023 you will see your charter school lottery results (OFFER or WAITLIST) in your online student dashboard and at that time you can ACCEPT or DECLINE an offer.

The deadline to ACCEPT/DECLINE a charter school offer is March 31, 2023. If you do not accept by this date, your charter school lottery offer(s) will expire. Once you accept an offer, offers from other schools will be automatically declined. You can remain on waitlists but may only accept an offer at one school.

Hello! I am incredibly excited to be a part of the Summit Tamalpais family as their Dean of Expeditions! Originally from Bismarck, North Dakota, I graduated with my BA in English before heading to the Bay Area where I received my MA in Education. I have been with Summit Public Schools for four years, the last three of which I have spent on the Expeditions team where I have not only taught Creative Writing & Short Story Composition at five of Summit’s California high schools but I also acted as an Independent Learning Coordinator at Summit Shasta this last school year. I feel so fortunate to have been able to be a temporary presence at Summit Tamalpais these last three years and so I cannot wait to be a more permanent fixture there moving forward.

Eric Dillie is a member of the Rotary Club of Livermore Valley and serves on the Board of Directors at Partners for Change Tri-Valley, a San Francisco Bay Area based 501c3 non-profit focused on ending the cycle of poverty. Most recently, Eric has served as Superintendent of Schools at Key Educational Group, an educational 501c3 non-profit service provider for public charter schools.

Eric’s prior educational leadership experience includes three years as Principal of a National award winning public charter high school, two years as Director of International programs at a large private school group, and a combined four years as Director of Instruction and Campus Principal at a public charter high school group in the Dallas-Ft.Worth area. He has seven years of traditional public school teaching experience as well. He taught 6th and 7th grade history at C.D. Fulkes Middle School (Austin, TX) and Coppell Middle School North (Dallas-Ft.Worth)

Eric earned a Bachelor’s in Social Science from the University of Northern Iowa and a Master of Education in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas. Eric holds a California Administrative Services Credential and a California Single Subject Teaching Credential.

Gregory Brookins Hinton was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Grinnell College, a small liberal arts college located in Grinnell, Iowa. He has continued to advocate for educational equity since becoming an educator, teaching 9th grade English in 2014. Mr. Brookins Hinton has 8 years of experience working in Education in the Bay Area. He has experience directing an afterschool program for k-8th grade and, most recently, has worked with Summit Public Schools for the past 3 years as the Middle School Expeditions teacher at Summit Tamalpais. Mr. Brookins Hinton is excited to join the Summit Tamalpais Middle School team as a Dean of Culture and Instruction for School Year 2022-2023.
