4worldlovers: BBT's Youth Division offers students a rigorous curriculum rooted in classical ballet and informed by a modern approach to movement with a healthy perspective on body image and physical well-being.

BBT's pre-professional Studio Company dancers share their passion for dance through performances in BBT's annual programming as well as collaborations with organizations including SF Girls Chorus, Berkeley Symphony, and BAMPFA.


Rhythm & Motion is a high-energy, dance-based workout that incorporates a dynamic mix of movement and music styles. The choreography is firmly rooted in dancer fundamentals and is inspired by popular music from around the world.

BBT's Adult Open Division provides a focused and supportive environment for dancers of all levels, from absolute beginner to professional, to refine their technique during classes and develop their artistry through performance opportunities.


BBT's Dance for PD program provides free classes to community members affected by Parkinson's disease, offering them a space to connect with their bodies, express themselves through movement, and experience live music.

It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you… we will not be opening for the Fall Session 2022 and Miss Tilly’s Ballet school will be closing its doors permanently. We have experienced logistical issues that I have been working hard to resolve, but in recent days it has become clear that it is not possible to open again for classes.

The past 52 years of teaching generations of children in San Francisco has filled my life with love and joy! Although the studio doors are closing, the Miss Tilly Ballet community remains strong, and I look foward to seeing you all around the city and watching your children grow.

Exciting news!!! Miss Ausjoli who has been a teacher at Miss Tilly’s Ballet School for the past five years has found a dance space in the inner Richmond district.

Miss Ausjoli will be offering children’s classes on Monday afternoons and Friday mornings for ages 2-10. The fall session will begin September 19th.

If your child dreams of being on stage, Miss Tilly’s can make this dream come true!

Miss Tilly has taught ballet to the young people of San Francisco for more than 40 years. She has introduced more than 10,000 budding ballerinas and danseurs to the joy and discipline of classical movement and music in a warm, supportive and beautiful environment.
