Welcome to the 2023/2024 school year at Vineyard Junior High! I am honored to be your new principal this year and I can’t wait to meet all of you. Each new school year brings hope, a fresh start, and new possibilities and I am so excited to get to be a part of that here, with all of you. Alta Loma School District holds a special place in my heart as I attended three of our elementary schools from kindergarten through sixth grade. I look back fondly and have many wonderful, lasting memories that I want to help recreate for our school community. I was born, raised, and still reside in Rancho Cucamonga where I am now raising my own family. My husband and I have five children ranging in age from 3-15, and their health, safety, emotional well-being, and education are all of utmost importance to me. I promise to keep your children, my scholars, at the core of every decision I make and action I take, as that’s what I expect for my own children. I come to you as an experienced principal of a National Blue Ribbon and California Distinguished middle school and with almost 20 years in education. My very first two years of teaching were at my Alma Mater just across town at Etiwanda High School, and now, it feels so good to be back here, serving again in my hometown.

I have a philosophy, “High Expectations with High Support for All,” that encompasses all learning partners including: staff, scholars, parents, and community members. If we all work together for the purpose of growing our scholars academically, socially, mentally, and behaviorally, we will create a nurturing learning environment and path to success. Rigorous standards in the classroom by highly qualified teachers and staff, strong parent involvement, and proud, involved scholars will certainly move our school forward to be even better at the end of the school year than where we started at the beginning of the school year. With high expectations comes high levels of support including: specific interventions, tiered supports, and enrichment to meet each student where they are and promote growth so they are confident, prepared, and caring citizens in our community and ready to take on the world of high school.

I am so excited to be your new principal and I am grateful for the opportunity to learn some of the Viking traditions, share my knowledge and experience, persevere through challenges, and have some fun!
