Founded in 1978, Vietnam Veterans of America, Inc. is the only national Vietnam veterans organization congressionally chartered and exclusively dedicated to Vietnam-era veterans and their families. VVA is organized as a not-for-profit corporation and is tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(19) of the Internal Revenue Service Code.

VVA's goals are to promote and support the full range of issues important to Vietnam veterans, to create a new identity for this generation of veterans, and to change public perception of Vietnam veterans.

Our office is located in the center of Pasadena, California and we service the San Gabriel Valley.

Vietnam Veterans of America relies totally on private contributions for its revenue. VVA does not receive any funding from federal,state, or local government.

Anyone who is not a Vietnam Era military veteran. We also welcome those that are Era Veterans, as non-voting supportive members. We are an adjunct organization of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Inc.

The mission of AVVA is to advance the work of VVA, Inc. through cooperative projects and/or programs; to facilitate,enhance and improve communication with our members and to the general public;and to continue legislative efforts to ensure the rights of and benefits for all veterans and their families.

The Pasadena Post of The American Legion was founded on July 22, 1919, four months after the founding of The American Legion on March 15, 1919. The American Legion was then chartered by Congress on September 16, 1919.

The Legion Family at Pasadena Post 13 is dedicated to continued service by honoring our defenders, veterans, their families and support the communities where they live.
