Located in an area with single-family homes, apartments, and condos, Pilgrim Tower East is conveniently located close to shopping, medical services, theaters, and Old Town Pasadena with a variety of restaurants.

4worldlovers: Since 2009 hundreds of people from many different faiths have come together annually on sacred Mount Baldy in the San Gabriel Mountains, east of Los Angeles, to send out waves of love and light to the world. This inspiring and joyous event draws together local spiritual communities to walk together, sing together, and pray together in the heart of nature - for World Peace.


In these days of great turmoil in our communities and in the world, it is even more crucial that all faiths come together to cooperate in spiritual action for World Peace. United, the spiritual workers for peace are a force to be reckoned with!

The World Peace Pilgrimage is open to people of all faiths, denominations and ages. It is a non-profit, non-commercial and non-political event. We climb the mountain as one human family.

Temple studio is now open for all classes that are held in the studio on Tuesdays (5:00-8:15PM) and Thrusdays (5:00-8:15PM). From 2023 there will be Yoga Classes scheduled from Jan 2023, Fridays 6-7PM and Saturdays 9-10AM.

We are a Sangha (community) for those seeking to learn and follow the Dharma (teachings) of the Buddha. The Pasadena Buddhist Temple belongs to the Jodo Shinshu tradition of Buddhism. Shin Buddhism offers a path through the chaos of our lives and the world that embraces all and forsakes none. Our national organization is the Buddhist Churches of America, headquartered in San Francisco, California. Our temple was established in 1948, and incorporated in 1956. The temple and classrooms were completed in 1958. The annex (Sakai Hall), which is used by the PJAA Bruins organization to conduct basketball practices, was constructed in 1962. We celebrated our 50th anniversary in 2008. We welcome all to come and learn about the Buddha Dharma.

The Pride banner that was destroyed was made for us by our neighborhood community at the Harambee Ministries block party last summer to replace the worn flags that the Board approved back in 2020. The flag painting project was organized by Side Street Projects and and our artist-in-residence, Alan Nakagawa.
