Presented as a collection of contemporary art by artists living and working in southern California, their work explores issues of visibility, sovereignty, and being rooted in time and place. This exhibition is guest curated by art historian Carol Henke and art collector Dee Kerrison.

COLORS TELL THE STORY: THE ART OF IRFAN MURTAZA Opens June 17

Irfan Murtaza is a local, internationally-renowned poet and artist. His acrylic paintings draw on subject matter from his native Pakistan and around the world. "Colors Tell the Story" is a collection of paintings reflecting architecture and sculpture, thematically spanning the ancient, modern, and sublime from South and Western Asia and North Africa.

MUZEO will be open only for the opening reception on June 17, 4:00pm - 6:00pm

California Jammin’ will feature free, outdoor performances spotlighting Western Swing, Roots/Blues, and Surf Rock artists in a relaxed, family friendly environment. Concerts will take place on June 30, July 28, and August 25 from 6:30-8:30 in the museum courtyard. The public will be invited to bring lawn chairs and picnic dinners to the show. In addition, a free kids arts and crafts booth will be offered by Muzeo.

The Reptile Zoo provides the community with a unique educational entertainment facility which houses over 100 exotic species of reptiles, amphibians, and arachnids from around the world.

During this time we are taking every precaution to keep not only our team, but our animals safe and well cared for. Six months of closure have been difficult financially, but we are looking forward to fulling inviting guests back to enjoy our hands-on and interactive experience as soon as responsible.
