4worldlovers: POOCHSITTER FRIENDS & FAMILY. I’VE BEEN MEANING TO COMPOSE AND SEND THIS MESSAGE TO YOU FOR SEVERAL MONTHS NOW. IM FINALLY getting a break to be able to do that.

As many of you have heard – I suffered a major medical crisis. I have been diagnosed with Glioblastoma WHICH IS A VERY AGGRESSIVE FORM OF BRAIN CANCER. I have to get down the road to treatment ASAP and I pray the treatment will work and that my life will be extended for a few more years beyond the prognosis given to me when I was initially diagnosed.

As a result of this diagnosis – I was forced to shut down PoochSitters. It broke my heart to do this but given the seriousness of this disease – I knew I would have to put 100% of my focus and energy to get through treatment.

A little about how PoochSitters came into existence. I’ve always been a California girl. I lived a good portion of my life in Northern California. I worked in high tech from the late 1970s until late 1990s. I worked for several high tech startups. Back in late 1996 I was approached with a job offer to relocate to Southrn California. The job was in my field of expertise so I took the job and stayed with that company for 5 years before the 2002 Tech Bubble burst and I found myself laid off. No this was very scary time for me for I was the only caregiver of my then husband Steve who had gone through his own Cancer journey. I knew I wanted to start a business that allowed me to work from home. In researching the pet industry and my lifetime love for dogs – it seemed like the perfect solution. I wanted to provide full-service pet care options for my clients.

I was able to utilize my startup expertise to start PoochSitters. At that time my youngest sister Lisa was interested in joining me in this venture while still living in Northern California. So from 20003 until a few months ago we had a thriving business where we took care of thousands of pets. We both loved the business. We put our hearts and souls into it. I built the business as I would have wanted to hire someone to take care of my dogs. My focus was excellent customer services with the aid of technology.

I loved business and all the wonderful human and furry clients that came into my life. My business grew from 2003 until 2022 (nearly 19 years). I am truly grateful for all the wonderful people I’ve met all years. I felt honored that they trusted me and my staff to properly take care of their fur babies pets. I adored all the pups. Many of my doggie babies through the aging process.
