With our Spring League now over, we are now in tournament season. We will be resuming local play in September 2023. If you have kids ages 7-14 interested in learning and playing field hockey, click here to learn more. We may also run a summer camp – more to come on that soon.


Our U14 and U12 teams played their hearts out at P4P this May. It was a great showing with tons of effort, really good performances and all round solid team-bonding. It was a new experience for some of our beginner players, and a great way to go out in style for our 14 year olds now aging out. We came second in both age brackets and are very proud of all our players.

Our first tournament was a success, with a Royals team coming in second and third place at U14 and U10. This marks the first youth club-level field hockey tournament in Orange County and we were very happy to provide a new playing opportunity for kids in our area. A big thanks to everyone that helped make it an enjoyable day.

South County Royals Field Hockey Club is the only active kids field hockey team for girls and boys ages 7-14 in Orange County, California.

We are registered with USA Field Hockey in Region 11 West. If you have kids planning to play in High School or beyond, we are a great way to pre-train them to a competitive level by their freshman year/age 14.

We have experienced, SafeSport-trained coaches with a good player-to-coach ratio. The club is currently split into U10 and U14 training groups. We are a 100% volunteer-run charity, and continue to grow and improve the experience we offer.

Mike Bickley was born in Barrie, Ontario, Canada which is where he started his hockey career, playing AAA hockey throughout his minor hockey. After moving to California in 1995, he played 2 years of AA/AAA hockey during which times his teams won a US National Championship. Mike left home at the age of 16 to play Junior A hockey in the USHL for the Omaha Lancers, Bozeman Icedogs of the NAHL and then returned home to Canada to play in the BCHL for the

Remainder of his 4 years of junior hockey, playing for Nanaimo Clippers, Burnaby Bulldogs, and the Chilliwack Chiefs, with a birth to the Royal Bank Cup National Tournament in Canada, only to lose in the finals to the host team Halifax.

Following his junior hockey career, he received a full ride scholarship to play hockey at Michigan Tech of the WCHA & played along side good friends Chris Conner of the Pittsburg Penguins, and John Scott of the Chicago Blackhawks.

Brady has over 20 years of hockey experience. He was born and raised in Yorba Linda, CA and played AA/AAA hockey for the Junior Ducks who made it to the semi-finals at US National Championships. He also won a California state championship with the Huntington Beach Sun Devils. He was reserved by the Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League and eventually left Southern California at the age of 17 to play Junior A Hockey throughout North America.
