4worldlovers: Regional Center of Orange County (RCOC) is one of 21 private, nonprofit organizations contracted by the State of California to coordinate lifelong services and supports for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. The regional center is the first stop for those seeking to obtain local services and supports to help them live safely and with dignity in the community.

Currently, RCOC serves over 23,000 Orange County residents with developmental disabilities and their families. Developmental disabilities include autism, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, and intellectual cognitive disabilities.

Social Recreational Services – AB637 Waiver Proposal To Expand Access To Services

RCOC held a virtual public meeting on January 25, 2023, to discuss and obtain community feedback on the topic of submitting a waiver proposal to the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) to allow for increased access to social recreation, camp, and non-medical therapy services.

The Santa Ana Federal Building is a nine-story building with one below-grade basement used for enclosed parking. In 2009, the building was the recipient of The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) award at the local level and competed on the regional level in 2010. The building is near the Ronald Reagan Federal Courthouse, other municipal and local courthouse facilities, civic center buildings and historic downtown Santa Ana. The building is primarily utilized as general office spaces for its federal tenants.

Public Hours: 7 a.m.– 5 p.m. Monday through Friday (except federal holidays)

There is no parking available at the building for the general public. Metered street parking is nearby. Commercial parking lots are within walking distance to the building. Public transportation is available via OCTA.

All public visitors are required to pass through electronic security equipment located on the first floor. ADA access is available at the east entrance to the building.

Major tenants are the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, Defense Contract Management Agency, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. In the latest (2019) Tenant Satisfaction Survey, 58% rated the federal building and GSA services four or five on a five-point scale.
