It seems that pulmonologists, due to their experience with sleep apnea, a more common sleep disorder, have by association become the go to for narcolepsy. However, both neurologists and pulmonologists commonly diagnose and treat narcolepsy. Either may have completed subspecialty training in sleep medicine.
