Two years ago, I picked up the game of golf and fell in love with it right away. The first time I played 18 holes, I shot about 180 (not counting the times I swung and missed the ball).

Following THE PROCESS step by step with my Instructor Gary Nutt, PGA made an immediate impact on my performance. I saw improvement right away. Gary analyzed my Game with the New Student Assessment, identified the biggest issues, then chipped away at them one by one. Now, two years later my handicap is 15.1 and my current lowest score for 18 holes is 81, playing from the blue tees. My coworkers comment constantly on how fast I’ve improved and I love the game more than ever.

The Aviara Golf Academy opened in 1991 at the Arnold Palmer designed Aviara Golf Club in Carlsbad, CA, 30 minutes north of downtown San Diego. The experience, dedication and longevity of his talented staff of 7 full time Master Instructors is unparalleled in the golf industry. Kip began teaching in 1972 and joined by Wayne Searle they opened the Academy in 1991. Master Instructors Ken Green joined in 1994, Bruce Nakamura and Bob Knee in 1995 and Grant Halverson in 1999. Jason Puterbaugh joined in 2010 and Jamie Puterbaugh in 2014. Working together through the years they’ve developed a curriculum that gives the golfer of any skill level the best chance to improve their game.
