4worldlovers: I completed my residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery here at Kaiser Permanente in Oakland. I then went on to complete a fellowship in Pediatric Head and Neck Surgery at the Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC. Therefore, I treat both children and adults for medical and surgical diseases of the head and neck, but I have a special interest in treating problems that are specific to children, like congenital hearing loss, airway disorders, vascular malformations, pediatric neck masses and others.

I was born in Kansas City, Missouri and come from a big family. My oldest brother is a pediatrician in Kansas City, so working with children must run in the family. I went to college at the University of Notre Dame and then medical school at Saint Louis University. I moved to California for residency and it has been a great place for me. I enjoy cycling, snowboarding, rock climbing, and pretty much anything outside.

I am very happy to be working for Kaiser Permanente because I believe that the organization is committed to providing the best quality care for its patients. I truly enjoy my specialty because I get to address difficult problems in children, each day is new and exciting, and I get to work with my hands and the rest of my colleagues and residents in the Department of Head and Neck Surgery and the Oakland Medical Center.
