The biggest lesson that I’ve learned over the past few years under Master Eduardo is that Jiu-Jitsu is infinite. There is always room to improve and there is always something to learn.

I chose Rocha BJJ because of its structured curriculum and the atmosphere of seriousness, helpfulness, and friendliness. Each instructor and the higher belts all want you to succeed and work with you to show you how to improve your techniques. The location is also great.

I think the only way to do something as hard as Jiu-Jitsu for years on end is to appreciate the beauty in it, and I think anyone who sees beauty in something as hard as Jiu-Jitsu is a healthy person to associate with.

Each class is structured critically; giving students the fullest capability to learn and retain instruction. The participation of each student is crucial, therefore, students who want to participate in the "MINI"eiros (4-7 years old) group will first have to be evaluated during the initial trial. To become an eligible member in this age group, we are looking for students who can follow a 45-minute class and perform with little to no distractions.

We encourage everyone to try a class! Mineiro BJJ also offers a Beginners Only class on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.

Womens Only BJJ is held on Fridays from 6:30-7:30PM at Mineiro BJJ Emeryville. This class is taught by Professor Liz and consist of techniques for all levels. Mineiro BJJ Albany members may attend this class!
