Great service for veterans. Helps with medical, legal, mail, food, and shelter. Just drop by. Even if you have a dishonorable discharge maybe the upgrade it or worst case scenario at least you can get a free coffee

This is one of the oldest veterans groups here in San Francisco, having been operational since the seventies. Here you can get assistance with finding housing, free legal services (but only for upgrading your discharge rating or filing a claim with the VA), substance abuse and mental health referrals, addresses of shelters, etc. And they usually have free bagels and coffee in the mornings, so show up early!

This place helped me get housing. It helped me with a lot of services. They serve lunch here and play movies and have groups and classes. A lot of case managers here too. This is where I get my mail. Love you guys! Thanks for your community service.

The Alameda County Veterans Service Office (CVSO) provides veterans, their dependents and survivors with information regarding US Department of Veterans Affairs and CalVet benefits, and to help file claims for these benefits.


The Veterans Affairs Commission advises and assists the Board of Supervisors on matters relating to veterans and their families as may pertain to meeting their needs for veteran's benefits, housing, food; shelter, transportation, and employment.

We understand the claims and application process is complex and often overwhelming, and our accredited Veteran Services Representatives are experienced and trained to help ensure that all of the necessary forms and applications are completed.
